This review is from: Intel Core i5-750 - Core i5 Lynnfield Quad-Core 2.66 GHz LGA 1156 95W Processor - BX80605I5750
Pros:
Great overclocker
Fairly low stock TDP
Benchmarks vs. AMD CPUs in the same price range generally put this chip well ahead in gaming tests
Have it running stable at 200x20 1.4vcore/1.2VTT, for a 50% increase over stock clocks.
Cons:
None
Overall Review:
Stock hsf was not nearly as bad as I was expecting, given other reviews. The after-market cooler I had ordered came with a broken fan so I used the stock cooler for about a week. Took it to 3.2GHz (at 1.15v) so I wouldn't have to underclock my 1600MHz RAM. At this speed/voltage the stock cooler idled at around 36C and prime95 capped it at 71C, below the 72.7C maximum listed in the specs for this chip.
For reference, though, a new Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 dropped idle temps 8 degrees and load temps 20 degrees at these specs.
