Pros:

You can read the specifications provided from Nokia, but they won't display the power and connectivity this phone provides for entry level smart phone users. With Android and iOS dominating the market, there isn't much room for Windows Mobile, however, Nokia's Lumia 521 seems to change the game a bit. My experience using Windows Mobile 8.0 has been flawless, for the most part. The phone's functionality provides me all my basic needs. I can even tether the phone to my laptop without much trouble. Although the phone does not have 4g/LTE support, the speeds I attained with T-mobile 3G network have surprised me. HSPA+ has a maximum of 21Mbit and 5.8Mbit on T-mobile's 3G network in domestic areas. I managed to sustain half that available bandwidth consistently, which is pretty amazing. Phone calls were loud and clear. Webpages loaded quickly, and GPS coordination is flawless, especially when the maps are downloaded to the phone. The rear camera does an excellent job taking pictures and works quite well when the side button is mapped to it. Pictures were clear and crisp under ideal lighting. Audio playback, surprisingly, was louder than my iPhone 5s. The phone is very durable and flush. I wouldn't hesitate if I were to drop the phone accidentally.

Cons:

No front camera support. No flash. Windows Mobile 8.1 deployment has been delayed consistently. The lack of 4g/LTE antennas will limit the coverage and connectivity of this device. SDHC performance decreases with larger SD card sizes. Software connectivity is difficult on MacOSX. In windows, the media player will take care of content management.

Overall Review:

If you need a phone for a decent price, and are willing to try Windows Mobile, this is definitely the phone you should start with. A sim card is also included with the packaging in case you'd like to start a new plan with T-mobile. The phone can be carrier unlocked after 2 months of service.
