5 out of 5 eggsStill kickin'

Pros: I've had this since 2006, it still works great, I'm running it OC'd on air @2.7ghz, I could easily take it higher, but won't on air. (Need a nice liquid cooler, or something..)

I can still play most modern games with this and the rest of my build at fairly high settings. (ex: I was running Oblivion maxed out at 1920x1080 with QTP3+HQ LOD, and many other mods.)

Asrock Dual-Sata2
AMD64 3700+ @2.7ghz
Radeon HD4850 512mb PCI-E
2gb OCZ Ram
Soundblaster Live! 24bit
Antec TP2.0 550watt PSU

Cons: Well, it's a great cpu, but really cpu heavy modern games requiring quads, etc, can bring it down a bit. (The only game I've played that I would call unplayable, is GTAIV, even on low, it was running like 15-30fps, depending on the scene.)

Other Thoughts: It's a great CPU, and still holds it's own to this day, it has it's limitations, but, it's held up much better than I thought it would over time.

It overclocks nicely, no volt mods, air cooled, and able to run as high as 2.75ghz stable, not bad. (I have an X2 4200+ that cries if I take it over 200mhz beyond stock, this cpu laughs at that OC.)

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent!

Pros: Excellent speed for the price! Have had for a year and have had no problems runs nice and cool at stock, but went ahead and slapped some Arctic Silver and there just to drop the temps a few degrees.

Cons: I assume the bad things about this processor go here.

Other Thoughts: For the price, well worth it! Would buy again but I am upgrading to a higher end processor. Still sticking to AMD though. Other brand runs too hot and seems to not run near as fast as these do at single core!

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: I upgraded from Pentium 3 series. Of course, it is much faster. BN gives good overclocking rates, too.

Cons: No more BNs.

Other Thoughts: Before I purchase this CPU, I was considering between AMD Athlon 64 San Diego 3700+ and 4000. Because 4000 was OEM which is not contained Heatsink and cooler, I ordered this item. Now, I overclocked to 2.6Gh with no additional voltage and a basic cooler. Excellent item ever.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Solid processor with no problems so far.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: It runs cool and it runs well. If you're on a budget, this is the way to go.

5 out of 5 eggsCustomer review

Pros: The heat output from this processor(89W) is quite low. I recieved measurements of circa 45C @ idle to <= 55C full load. The mem. controller on the K8 CPU releases the mobo from performance limitations, blah, blah, etc.
Beautiful proc. for <$100.
I OC'ed mine to 2695 MHz(i.e. 11 x 245) it's a step in the right direction if you have skt. 939 and are wanting a proc.

Cons: what do expect?
it is, as it is
a few hundred million transistors.
Perhaps that it is not true artificial intelligence on the CPU die!!! lol

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't it be nice if it were only
one really superfast CPU for every PC...
I digress.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Its a great processor for the money. It has 1MB cache and overclocks like a champ. I got a great stepping. It posts at 3.0 and runs 2.9 at stock voltage.

Cons: The price is so low compared to when I bought it.

Other Thoughts: AMD 3700+ San Diego @ 2.9 / 2 GB G.skill HZ DDR500 / A8N32 SLI Deluxe / eVGA 7900GT w/ VF900

3 out of 5 eggsNot so happy with this purchase!!

Pros: It's a great cpu for the price for sure, and most are if not 99% are great overclockers*.

Cons: I ordered this cpu about a month ago, and iam extremely dissapointed with newegg. They must of shipped me this cpu that was probably lost for a year because the date batch is from 0543 , which means its from year 05'. Totall garbage, can't even run 2.5ghz stable on a TT big typhoon. I've ordered many cpu's from newegg and this time I got milked.

Other Thoughts: Sucks to be the unlucky one.
