Excellent monitor, great for everyday needs

DELL E2414HM Black 24” 5ms 1920 x 1080 Widescreen HD LED Backlight LCD Monitor 1000:1 DVI & VGA
DELL E2414HM Black 24” 5ms 1920 x 1080 Widescreen HD LED Backlight LCD Monitor 1000:1 DVI & VGA

Pros: Setup is very easy, just stick the stand into the monitor and plug it in. No dead pixels when I turned it on and all of the games I play on it look beautiful.

Cons: Not height adjustable. It really isn't a big deal for me since I can just raise my chair or elevate it.

Overall Review: I upgraded from a 19" to this monitor and I can honestly say the difference is night and day! I'm a programmer so having a large monitor is essential so I can see all of my code. I would recommend purchasing this monitor. I bought it at $109.99 for Black Friday.

Mediocre keyboard; not very durable

SteelSeries 64225 6Gv2 Keyboard
SteelSeries 64225 6Gv2 Keyboard

Pros: This keyboard is quite heavy and will not move when you type on it. Also, it's a lot quieter than its Cherry MX Blue/Red counterpart. The only sound that is made is the key bottoming out.

Cons: After a little over 1 year of use, my [1] and [5] keys experience very frequent chatter. Chatter = one key press registers multiple times. Those are the keys I use frequently in Starcraft 2 (1 for army, 5 for hatcheries), so after 1 year of use, it just goes to show that this keyboard isn't very durable.

Overall Review: The fact that the keys began to chatter only after 1 year of use is enough for me to discontinue purchasing SteelSeries products in general. Be wary when purchasing this keyboard--multiple key presses are far from ideal when gaming and it can cause many headaches in the future.

Excellent upgrade, never going back to HDD

Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SV300S37A/120G
Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SV300S37A/120G

Pros: My windows boot time SIGNIFICANTLY faster since installing this SSD. Installation was a breeze. Definitely worth the upgrade if you can afford it.

Cons: 120GB isn't very much space and goes quick. If you have extra money, invest in a larger capacity.

Excellent laptop for the price you pay!

Lenovo Laptop IdeaPad Intel Core i5-4200M 4GB Memory 500GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 4600 15.6" Windows 8.1 G510 (59406709)
Lenovo Laptop IdeaPad Intel Core i5-4200M 4GB Memory 500GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 4600 15.6" Windows 8.1 G510 (59406709)

Pros: - Very quick start-up - Windows 8.1 (explained below) - Battery life excellent - Shipping also very fast, despite being shipped by Ontrac - Processor is great for every-day browsing as well as program compilation and execution

Cons: The shift button on the right side is about half the size as the one on the left because of the arrow keys. Because of this, I've had to readjust the way I use it. Not enough of a problem for me to knock an egg--I've adjusted just fine.

Overall Review: I've been using the laptop for a week and I haven't had any problems with it thus far. I was looking for a laptop that I could use for work and it runs very smoothly, with absolutely no stuttering whatsoever. I mentioned above that Windows 8.1 is a pro because it is faster than Windows 7 and its experience is drastically changed if you install a start menu such as StartIsBack or Start8. It's well worth the $3-$5 price tag, and it's basically Windows 7 2.0. Don't let the fact that this laptop comes with Windows 8.1 keep you from buying it! All-in-all, this is a very solid laptop and perfect for every day use.

Cool temperatures + CHEAP!!

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: My CPU idles from 20-25 which is AMAZING. Great CPU cooler and an unbeatable price!

Cons: The fan is a little loud, however for $30 and such good cooling, I can live with a little bit of noise.

Overall Review: People say that the installation was a pain and that the directions were terrible--they really aren't that bad. But I do suggest you watch the video to make sure that you don't miss anything. Also, detach the fan when you're seating the heatsink--it will make the retention plate a bit easier to install and screw in.

Fast and easy

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit

Pros: Easy to install. I had no problems with my product key, making my installation time very swift.

Cons: Unable to install this version on a new motherboards since it's OEM, but I don't intend to do that anytime soon so it's alright.
