Fantastic

TOSHIBA Canvio 3.0 750GB USB 3.0 2.5" Portable External Hard Drive E05A075CAU3XW Black/White
TOSHIBA Canvio 3.0 750GB USB 3.0 2.5" Portable External Hard Drive E05A075CAU3XW Black/White

Pros: I actually picked this up at Best Buy because I had a gift card there, and figured what the heck. I wanted an external HDD that was sleek looking, had a capacity larger than 500GB, and was fast. Well, this thing wins. It's awesome. It's very quiet and spins up very quickly (and goes into a power saving mode if the drive isn't accessed for more than 5 minutes by spinning down the drive). It has one white LED on the top of the case at one end, and it's not too bring or too dim (and blinks when the disk is in use). Yes, it's only 5400 RPM, but it feels like a 7200 RPM drive. This thing flys, and I'm still only using it on a USB 2.0 port. I've taken it on a ton of trips and plugged/unplugged it many many dozens of times and it has not failed me whatsoever. I'm using a MacBook Pro (formatting it for Windows 7 or OS X is a breeze of course). Can't say enough good things about this drive.

Cons: The USB cable that comes with it is only about a foot long. This is fine for me, but for some it might be bothersome. The real problem is that the port connecting to the drive itself is a proprietary plug. Meaning you can't just use any old USB cable with this, you'd need one that had the proprietary plug on one end I've only seen Toshiba drives include. But please don't let this discourage you from buying this drive. The included cable fits in the port very snug and WILL NOT just randomly fall out and cause you to lose it. And the cable is of course USB 3.0 compatible.

Overall Review: The USB cable thing is very minor, I promise you (unless you need a lot more length). This drive is fantastic and very reliable.

D-Link Cloud Router (DIR-605L), Wireless N300, mydlink Cloud Services
D-Link Cloud Router (DIR-605L), Wireless N300, mydlink Cloud Services

Pros: Great range High bandwidth Lots of UI options Easy setup

Cons: The UI options aren't always clear. For example, when trying to set up Firewall settings, clicking "save" after making a rule simply loads you to a Schedule page with no explanation or confirmation that your Firewall rule was saved. Making a schedule for the Firewall rule still doesn't save said rule either, and there's no way to confirm it saved it. However this is what really killed it for me. It craps out after an hour of streaming with the Roku (at 720p), like just randomly. I'll be watching a movie on Roku and an hour or so in it'll just stop streaming/kill the internet for whatever reason. I have a brand new Zoom 5341J modem and 20 down/2 up connection, and yet the Roku will work fine but the internet is down (for every device in the house, not just the Roku). D-Link hasn't provided a firmware update in a long time which makes me wonder if there will ever be another one (my old router, a TRENDnet TEW-652BRP, received firmware updates continuously for years). It doesn't support DD-WRT.

Overall Review: It doesn't seem to like doing heavy streaming/activity for longer than an hour, which really sucks, because everything else about this router is great. It has great range and holds connections well, but doesn't want to work hard for long. As this was the main reason I purchased this router, I really regret getting it at all. Wish I could return it, or at least not have to pay shipping to get it RMA'd.

Loud and Hot

MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card R9 390 GAMING 8G
MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card R9 390 GAMING 8G

Pros: -Runs games fantastically at 1080p -Replaced a 7970, and I'm very happy with the results (performance wise)

Cons: -It's kind of loud, which was my initial concern. I had an MSI card in the past (7950) and it didn't get nearly as loud as this card does under load. It's sitting in an Phanteks Enthoo Evolv mATX case on my desk, and under load I can hear it pretty well. - It's a hot card. You'd think all the hot air would be pushed out the back, but the fans really just push it out to the side, causing the inside of the case to get hot.

Overall Review: If noise is your main concern, try the Powercolor R9 390 instead. I've heard its quieter than this card, and I should have taken my own advice and gone with it instead of this MSI card.

Awesome

MSI Radeon HD 7850 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card R7850 Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC

Pros: Made the mistake of OC'ing this card too high at first, but I finally found the perfect settings and it has never hiccup'd once. Runs incredibly cool and quiet, even under full load. Also OC's like a beast! Maxing out 1080p on nearly every game I throw at it.

Cons: None

Awesome!

Fractal Design Arc Midi Black High Performance PC Computer Case w/ USB 3.0 and 3 x Fractal High Performance 140mm fans
Fractal Design Arc Midi Black High Performance PC Computer Case w/ USB 3.0 and 3 x Fractal High Performance 140mm fans

Pros: This case is fantastic. I had been looking at the Corsair 400R for a while, but just could never really fall in love with the design (and I love Corsair's stuff). When I came across the Arc Midi, I immediately knew that this was the one. It looks fantastic, it's incredibly feature-rich, it's well built, quite, doesn't take up much space, and it's only $100. Can't recommend this case highly enough!

Cons: Newegg charges an arm and a leg on shipping for this thing. If I could have bought it anywhere else that didn't charge a ridiculous amount on shipping, I would have bought it there instead.

Wow

TRENDnet TEW-652BRP 802.11b/g/n Wireless N Home Router up to 300Mbps/ 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Port x4

Pros: I bought this at a electronics retail store for $40 over a year and a half ago to try it out after reading that the internals are basically older D-Link stuff. I wasn't expecting much, but wow was I surprised. This thing has worked flawlessly since day 1. The range is very nice, the bandwidth is solid, and I've never once had to reset it due to locking up or whatnot. I've put this thing through all kinds of pain and it's always worked great. Had all 4 ports and several wifi connections being used at once for gaming and it didn't break a sweat or drop the ball. I once used it at a LAN to connect 4 other routers together (total of 16 people gaming/internet/file sharing/etc. all at once) AND had people using the wifi on it, and it still didn't reset or drop a single connection or even slow down. This has far exceeded my expectations, and the firmware for it is still being updated to this day. This is hands down the best router I've ever used.

Cons: The UI isn't that pretty? I honestly can't think of a single thing.

Never Shipped

I ordered this item on March 7 (it's now the 23rd), and I have still not received the item. I checked the tracking number several times over the course of the past couple weeks and there was never any kind of tracking update going on. It just listed the tracking number (O62S00085318364) but the date/time, location, and details columns were all blank, and still are as of today. Luckily it was a ~$20 item, but it's still annoying to have to contact the seller to get a full refund on an order that was never shipped.
