RAM is randomly shutting down my computer?

The motherboard I have is the ASRock X370 Killer. My computer never shut down randomly until I upgraded to the CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB. Does anyone have an idea to why this would be happening?

hello,I checked the QVL lists and there is something I should mention.The QVL List for Summit Ridge CPUs (Ryzen 1000 series/ 1st gen) does not list this kit as compatible. However, the QVL lists for Raven Ridge (Ryzen 2000 series APUs w/ Integrated Vega Graphics) and Pinnacle Ridge (Ryzen 2000 Series CPUs w/o Integrated Vega Graphics) both list this kit as compatible with your Asrock board. So I have a few theories as to what is causing the random shutting down.

1) The new kit or one of the DIMMs in the new kit is defective
2) One of the DIMM slots on your board has malfunctioned and no longer works properly
3) If you have a 1st Gen Ryzen 1000 series CPU installed, it is possible that the CPU does not play nicely with this kit since it was not listed as compatible under the Summit Ridge QVL.
4) (least likely) Your XMP profile within the motherboard's BIOS is causing instability with the memory (this can be fixed by disabling your XMP profile).

Another thing I wanted to note is that is that if it is a problem with your XMP profile, consult with Asrock or Corsair to determine if the board or memory should be returned.  They should be able to guide you in the right direction in that regard, hope this helps!

Some RAM is only fitted to PC does this fit into motherboard im thinking of buying for inspiron 5000 series, does this fit into laptops???

Hello Ahmed, in short no this will not work with any laptop.  Memory for a laptop is going to be labeled as SO-DIMMs, although it is true that over time some laptops were designed with desktop memory sockets and vice versa this was and is extremely uncommon.  So keep this in mind while your searching for memory, that SO-DIMMs are for laptops and are about 1/3 or less the size of a standard desktop memory module.  As far as I know there were like a half dozen laptops made 10 or more years ago that would take desktop modules.  In this day and age no laptop out there will take any desktop module of any kind.  You are looking for SO-Dimms and 90% of laptops out there are also not going to take DDR-4 of any kind.  The only laptops that are going to take DDR4 SO-DIMMS are laptops with 6th generation intel cpu's and even then they may still take DDR3LP (low-power) SO-DIMMS.

Laptops are also not going to take any 16GB modules as a general rule, there may be exceptions but most will cap out at 8GB or less per socket.  You can verify anything I've said with other knowledgeable PC people and with google searches.  I've been in IT for 20+ years.  Don't mean to sound so absolute about everything but would hate to see you buying desktop memory because there are a lot of people with a lot of false assumptions about what will and will not work.

Would this work with my AMD Phenom II X6 1045T Processor and I think the mother board I have is a Asus one I'm not sure of anything else about it though?

That processor is pretty old, so the motherboard would not support it. Your motherboard likely supports DDR3, which is also cheaper. This RAM is for the latest generation of motherboards and processors.

Is it compatible with corsair vengeance ddr4 2133? have 2x8 gb ddr4 2133 installed. need a upgrade but dont have the budget to go for 64G.

It all depends on your mob, but looks like it is  compatible. Should have the same number of pins, 288 and they are both ddr4. Your board  will pick the lowest speed.

Yes. I started by purchasing a single packet to get 32GB, but you can purchase two packets to use all 4 memory slots on your motherboard (assuming that's the configuration you have).

It works on my EVGA FTW Z170 (4X16GB for a total of 64GB) and is confirmed to work by corsair.  They will be doing new marketing soon.
