I don't see why not! MY Dell Inspiron has an i5Core processor and came with 8 GB of RAM. Go to Dell and read the specs of "your" PC and find out what the maximum amount of RAM that your PC can handle and go from there. Please note that Dell of course is going to say that your PC can only handle so much, but if your PC is fairly new I'm sure you can push it as I did. I bought this kit and boosted my RAM to 16GB so that I can run virtuals without any latency and other programs at the same time and haven't had any issues at all. Plus you can't go wrong with Crucial.

If you go to Dell's website and research your make and model's specifications, it will tell you if you're able to upgrade your computer's hardware. Mine said it was only able to go to 8 GB, BUT if you have Windows 7 or newer, then the OS should allow you to upgrade your memory and allocate it appropriately. I've had mine since Oct 2013 and I have not complaints at all. IF I were you, I'd go for it and enjoy the benefits of more RAM.

Dear Shopper,

You would have to look up the specifications on your laptop as well as the OS that you're using and lastly the BIOS settings. Once you have verified that your laptop can handle the upgrade then should you only do so. Not only that, ensure that you don't have to make any modifications to your software/hardware settings. Dell said that laptop can only hold up to 8GB, but being that I was running Windows 7 and my laptop took DDR3 RAM, I pushed the issue anyway and Windows 7 recognized it right away and I let the OS manage the virtual ram itself.

I'm not sure; however, if you go to crucial dot com, they have a lookup by manufacturer and product, or they can even scan your system, and tell you what products are compatible.
