does it work with tv to watch movies ?

It's a nice drive, so it should be fast enough to store and watch movies. You're have to have it connected to a device capable of delivering the movies to the TV.

Yes, but it will not transfer data as fast as a USB 3.0 connection.

Does this work with Linux hosts? Reformatting is OK, as long as the drive is recognized by parted.

I'm sorry, but I cannot answer your question because I'm using the drive only with Windows 7, 8 and 10 and without any problem so far...

is this 3.0 drive compatible with xp?

I am not 100% sure since I haven't try it. However, I do know that it's backward compatible with USB 2.0. So if your XP system recognizes USB 2.0 devices, then it should work. If your system is using USB 1.0, then I would not risk it.

will this work for xbox one??

I got it to work on PS4. It should work on Xbox one...
