Ok im intrested in buying a few seagate barracuda pro 12tb. But i wanna know if i could use them for xbox one and ps4 as well besides my laptop?

tHE COMPANY DOES NOT SUGGEST USING THEM IN EXTERNAL ENCLOSURES, BUT I HAVE MINE AS THE EXTERNAL DRIVE FOR A DIRECTV DVR.  however, VERY FEW ENCLOSURES OR DOCKS SUPPORT SUCH HIGH CAPACITY DRIVES.  mY ICY DOCK WORKS AND HAS SOME OTHER ADVANTAGES WITH THE ESATA CONNECTION SUCH AS CHAINING THEM WITHOUT INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENTIATION IN THE DVR.  I LOVE THE DRIVE; ITS JUST THE APPLICATION OUTSIDE OF A DESKTOP THAT GETS TRICKY.

I'm not familiar with Barracuda HDs is this an ideal choice for a gaming computer? or is this something equivalent to WB green?

This is not like a green drive that turns off all the time.  I use this as a hard drive for my Directv DVR, so it is on pretty much all the time, and it works great for recording video and accessing it quickly.  I have it in a thick cabinet and a four drive unit with a fan, so I can't vouch for how quiet it is though.  I believe it makes a certain amount of noise just going about its business but not bad.  It's a heavy and dense drive that really gives you the impression it's something substantial.  If you're really very concerned about reliability, the Western Digital Gold Enterprise Drives are on sale at Newegg.
