The SI-PEX40064 PCI-e Controller Card gives you an easy way to add additional four internal SATA III ports to your computer, through a single PCI Express slot. The SATA III ports offer a blazing-fast speed of 6Gbps, while remaining backwards compatible with the SATA I and SATA II specifications. It supports Port Multiplier FIS Based or Command Based switching, ensuring maximum performance.
Additionally, this card is bootable, and features hot plug and hot swap functions. The included low-profile bracket makes installation in compact cases a breeze.

Four SATA III ports
The SYBA SI-PEX40064 PCI-E Controller card adds up to four internal SATA III ports to your computer system, allowing you to easily connect four additional HDD/SSD drives.
High Speed
The SATA III ports deliver a blistering fast data transfer speed of up to 6Gbps, letting you transfer monstrous amounts of data in seconds. They are also backwards compatible with SATA I (1.5Gbps) and II (3Gbps) standards.

Port Multiplier Support
Thanks to the built-in support for SATA Port Multipliers with FIS-based switching or Command Based switching, this card allows you to easily connect more HHDs/SSDs at once.
Note: * The SYBA SI-PEX40064 PCI-E Controller card supports 3TB and 4TB hard drives. For port multiplier function, please follow Windows 8 instructions in Download's tab on //www.sybausa.com/productInfo.php?iid=1376.

Native Command Queue (NCQ) Support
This card supports Native Command Queue (NCQ), allowing hard disk drives to internally optimize the order in which received read and write commands are executed. This can reduce the amount of unnecessary drive head movement, resulting in increased performance.

Hot-swap Ability
This card supports hot plug and hot swap functions. Simply plug it into your computer system, and it’s ready to work.

Great Compatibility
The SYBA SI-PEX40064 PCI-E Controller card is compliant with PCI-Express specification V2.0, and remains backwards compatible with PCI-Express 1.0.
Low Profile Ready
With the included low-profile bracket, this card can be effortlessly installed into desktop computers of various sizes.

Pros: Reasonable cost, works right away without needing to find and activate it under a hardware list, and i didn't have to look for drivers. Linux Mint 18, Sylvia, recognized it right away and mounted the first drive i plugged in to test it.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I recommend this if you like Linux and are making a server, as I am. I got this device for a RAID and chose it because it offers me 4 ports.
Pros: nothing
Cons:
The install instructions were completely wrong. Descriptions of where files were weren't even close.
Operating instructions were wrong. The raid interface did not open using ctrl+m.
Went to open up the software via the installed tray and both Google and Firefox refused to open the interface saying the web site instructions were wrong and it was an untrustworthy site. Untrustworthy is the operable phase.
Pros: Fast, SATA 6 speeds.
Cons: None really.
Other Thoughts: This ended up coming from another seller on newegg which took 9 days to get here. 9 days. I went out and bought one from a computer store for cheaper, this one arrived and i'll put it into another box.
Pros: HTPC fried so had to rebuild. In the process I upgraded hdd's in my server. So I took 6 of the seagate 7200rpm 3tb hdds and raid 0'd them to the hero VII. That uses up all the on board sata slots. Used M.2 for os and apps. I bought this and connected 3 bluray burners to them using the win10 drivers alone. Works for my back ups, ripping or burning.
Cons: none.
Other Thoughts: If you are wondering if it will support bluray burners, the answer is yes and it will rip at full speed even though its a x1.
Pros: Easy to install.
Cons: Easy to install, updated driver for Windows 10 online but made no difference! Will perform at SATA II but not SATA III speeds.
Pros:
-- Fast Installation, Windows and Linux (Latest Kernel) Pick's it up just fine.
-- Have 4 of these, no failures two in each computer, to converted 5.25 Bays I don't use to 3.5"
-- No issues with drives over 8TB
Fast Installation, I just put a 5th one into my 1800x, due to m.2 taking over a SATA port for some reason, I went ahead and put this in and drives we're detected and no issues (see cons)
Cons:
One issue with Socket AM3+ Boards and FM2+ Boards is Windows 8.1 Fast Boot, sometimes I had a drive that wouldn't be detected, but since these are on Linux Units, I have no need for it, disabled it. I also checked and the SATA wire wasn't fully connected.
These are just nice enough cards to create /media/add-on_card/drive1-4 or F: and up, Don't try to use these with Storage spaces or in a Software RAID, it will fail.
I've tested this card with: All drives, except Seagate because I haven't bought a Seagate drive in 4 years, I only buy HGST or WD. Seagate Drives have one purpose, paperweights.
Other Thoughts: I've recommended this product to all my clients since I build PC's who like add-on cards. They have bought it, and some have bought several.
Pros:
4! Count 'em ports.
PCIe 1x.
Works with PCIe standard 1 (older HW).
Cons: Price. That is the universal problem with these cards.

Pros: Hardware install is straight forward, works with 6TB drives with no issues.
Cons: Had to go to sybausa.com for driver. IOCrest site does not list his card, so be aware of this.
Other Thoughts: I contacted Asus tech support for help on finding a PCIe SATA6 controller card for one of their mobos and they were USELESS. I bought this one based on newegg reviews and it works like a champ.
