Question 1

Hopefully dumb question.  Specs say this SSD is SATA III.  I assume it is backward compatible with SATA II and will drop down to that speed when connected to a SATA II controller on the motherboard.  Am I right?

Better to be safe than sorry I always say!  You are correct, this will still work on a SATA II controller but will not be able to achieve its full potential due to the bandwidth limitations of SATA II when compared to SATA III.  Hope this helps!
