my system has a sata m.2 as its only drive and it boots fine. I don't know about nvme but it probably works too.

For anyone who has recently ordered (after May 2018), what BIOS was pre-installed? I have a 2nd wave Coffee Lake CPU and I want to know if it will work without having to borrow a 1st wave CPU to flash. Thanks!

The 8086k is just a binned 8700k so no BIOS update is required, also Gigabyte hasn't released a BIOS update that includes any new CPUs.

I'm going to recycle an Antec Solo (I) case (love it, have three), description says it takes ATX or micro-ATX. Will this mini-ITX board (even smaller) work there?

It should be able to fit a Mini-ITX motherboard as it only needs 4 screws and all ATX cases have the needed 4 standoffs in the proper positions for Mini-ITX

Please, what's the height of the heatsinks? There's one for the VRMs and another one for the M.2 SSD. Need to know in order to buy a CPU Cooler without clearance conflict. Thank you

the heatsinks are very small slabs of metal with a few fins. I would estimate they are a centimeter high at most. The main issue will be the height of the ram, but low profile ram works very well for me.
