Worked great with the system i put them it in and it was a amd system . you should check with whoever made the system tho to be sure . user manual is usualy where i start .

I bought this memory yesterday to replace one of the four memory sticks I had been using which failed. The other 3 sticks are from a Patriot Memory G Series Sectory5 DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz 16 GB (4X4GB) kit. Will this new item work? Thanks!

You need to look at error correction and other specs for your motherboard.  The autoconfigurator gave me the wrong module, so I looked up the specifications for the mother board and this is the one for me.  It worked fine, still working.  This is NON ECC.

Hello,

DDR3 PC3-12800, DDR3 (non-ECC) is what I have in my Dell XPS. Will this work if I only buy one to add to my inventory of SDRAM?

Or...would I have to purchase two to fix the remainder of the empty two memory slots?

You don't need two.

I bought a single stick of this RAM and it worked just fine right out of the box by itself. It'll likely work for you. Maybe. Despite having the same basic stats as your existing RAM, it's hard to say for certain if things will work out.

Supposedly, it's best to have matching sticks of RAM across the entire board for best performance and to lessen the likeliness of compatibility issues. Try to ensure all of your RAM has the same Voltage requirements at least. I don't believe latency is as big of an issue. Faster RAM will likely be throttled down accordingly.
