Are these WD800BB 80GB IDE hard drives brand new?

Hi Jeff. Yes, the hard drives appear to be brand new --- a few months ago I purchased one of the WD800BB hard drives offered by this seller and it arrived within the original packaging of the factory itself.

H will this drive replace my Mac G4 ata/ide 7200rpm drive? Mine current drive will not connect on startup. I am looking for a replacement. Thank you in advance for your speedy reply. Timothy

Can't tell you for sure, as I don't deal in the Apple world, but IDE/PATA drives are of a long established standard. I would think it would do just fine.

No, this is a desktop size (3.5") disk. You need a laptop size (2.5") disk, or an SSD.
