Silent and Effective

Pros: Magnetic Levitation, Silent, and RGB :)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I use this twin pack as an intake in my NZXT H200. The included Lighting Node Pro is very useful. My 2 140mm ML Pro RGB intake fans, 120mm ML Pro RGB top and rear fans, and Lighting Node Pro are all connected to my Corsair Commander pro.

Beautifully disappointed.

Pros: These fans are beautiful and work very well with the icue software. Im very disappointed these fans very loud from around 850rpms and above.

If noise is an issue Id recommend looking elsewhere.

Cons: Noisy even though ML series

Really cool looking fans but missing pieces

Pros: Really like the fans and RGB

Cons: not sure yet see other

Other Thoughts: I'm unsure if the lighting node pro was supposed to come with the required cables.

I have the USB cable to commander pro, was that the only cable? I haven't really done my research on this thing

going to try another brand. not impressed at all. will be replacing them asap.

Pros: they are well built and feel nice and sturdy.
5 year warranty is solid.
they include everything you need to mount and control the rgb function for them if you buy the 3 or 2 pack. which includes the lightning node pro. the single fans dont.
the 140s are quiet but way under powered. they dont move much air through my low fpi 420 rad.
the software works well.
long fan cables make connecting them easy.

Cons: the colors are dull. the four core mounted leds dont give off much bright light at all.
if you have them as an intake and have filters on your case they are disappointing both in air flow and brightness.
the 120s are VERY loud but push a good amount of air through my 360 rad.
the 140s dont move much air through my second 420 rad but arent loud.
you need the lightning node pro to use the rgb function.
they made a mess of my case with all of the tiny wires popping up everywhere. literally had a rats nest of cables once the 5 fans i bought were connected. they couldnt manage to sleeve them with something of a higher quality or at least use larger diameter wire? at these ridiculous prices they certainly should have been able to.
you need an unused usb slot to use the lightning node pro. i had to give up my usb2 ports on the front of my case to use these.
you will also need a fan hub or controller to run the pwm fans. this is very misleading in the ads. they claim- Complete PWM Control: Dynamically control fan speed from 400 RPM to 1,200 RPM to minimize noise or maximize airflow! sadly corsair fails to mention that they need to be connected to another fan hub or controller to achieve this PWM control. the lightning node pro only controls the RGB. fortunately i had a 8 fan swiftech hub and 9 fan alphacool splitty to connect them to. they only cosy $10 as expensive as these fans are you would think the node pro would control the fan speed!
the cables are the smallest cheapest feeling ive ever used in 20 years of building rigs. you feel like you will break them when straightening them out. it also turns the back of your case into zip tie hell if you want them to lay down at all.
the usb converter box that connects to your mb has short cables which makes hiding it more difficult than it should be.

Other Thoughts: i wish noctua would start making decent looking rgb fans. if they did they would take the market by storm.

Good hardware being dragged down by clunky installation and software

Pros: Much like other Corsair RGB products, these fans offer no shortage in RGB effects or timings, and do add a lot of pop to a black case. I’ve got the fans configured to swap between blue and white, matching my other peripherals (Ducky Shine II in white LEDs, Corsair MM800C RGB, Mionix NAOS7000 RGB, and even a chair that even has RGB).

The fans themselves are quiet and fit snugly against the case. The rubber on the corners is solidly attached to the plastic on the corners, and even when the fans are running at full speed, I have no vibrations or noises. It does take some extra tightening when installing them, as the fan housing is near flush/level with the top of the fan blade, maybe only a few mm space leftover.

I light the idea of queueing effects and having a single RGB controller. I only have two fans, but scaling up to 6 in total seems like a relatively easy effort for getting good looking color.

Cons: Be prepared for some of the worst cable management possible. Unless you have a good size full tower or a super tower and plan to have like 6 in the case, it’s not exactly easy to organize. Required cables for just 2 fans:
- USB bus on board to the Lighting Node Pro
- Lighting Node cable to RGB fan controller
- 2x SATA power connectors, one each for the Lighting Node and RGB fan controller
- 2x Fan RGB cables to RGB fan controller
- 2x Fan 4 pin connectors to associated cables or on board slots

The USB cable included is extremely short, so be prepared to put the Lighting Node on the bottom or side of your case. It barely reached into the hard drive area of my Corsair C70, which is a mid-tower case. There are small velcro straps or half-decent ties that come included, so save the twist ties that wrap around the cables from the box.

Another installation gripe: there are only one type of screws included with the fans I received, some short, wide screws that are often used on the exterior walls of the case -- you can see these in the picture showing all the parts. You usually hold the fan up, then screw in the screws from the outside. There is one key problem with this: sometimes, the front of the case is where these fans will be installed, and you will almost never use these screws on the front of the case. There are longer, ~1” long screws that fit in much narrower holes Visually, you are fastening the screws on the front side of the fan, and they reach through both holes on a corner to get to the hole. These fans only came with one set of screws; if I did not have some saved from a Noctua fan, I would not have been able to install these fans on the front of my case; need I remind you, I have a *Corsair* case.

Finally, the biggest killer of these fans is the software. It’s not that it doesn’t work, it’s that I now need two pieces of software to control my *Corsair* RGB gear. The fans use “Corsair Link” while my *Corsair* MM800C RGB Polaris mousepad uses “Corsair Utility Engine.” I cannot control the fans with the mousepad software, and I also can’t control the mousepad from the fan software. It seems absurd that I now need two pieces of software to manage the same devices, BOTH of which are USB connected. There are other other Corsair peripherals, such as the Glaive mouse and K95 keyboard, that would be affected by this as well.

Other Thoughts: I can’t really complain about the hardware itself, the fans are efficient and quiet, and I really like that about them. I just wish that everything else related to the fans wasn’t so difficult and clunky. I own a Corsair case, which can’t have these installed on the front unless you had screws that weren’t included with these Corsair fans. I have a Corsair mousepad that can’t be controlled by the same Corsair software as these Corsair fans, and vice versa for the mousepad software and the fans.

For real though, what gives, Corsair? Your hardware and software ecosystem is seeming a little fractured, and I’d love to see it come together into a much more well-oiled machine.

Well Blow Me Down (pun intended)

Pros: -Best RGB implementation I’ve seen in a case fan yet
-Tremendous amounts of static pressure
-“Air” quiet (explained below)

Cons: -The usage of and need for the Corsair Link equipment
-Produce a noticeable amount of air noise
-Multiple cables out from the fan housing complicates a clean install
-Definitely not cheap

Other Thoughts: I ordered the 2-pack (140mm) to put in the top two fan slots of my Air 540 and, now, I need to replace my entire case with them...

The bearing in these is so quiet that I now get annoyed when I hear the other case fans running (even though they’re made by Corsair as well). You literally can only hear the air it moves...that’s it...which is why I refer to it as “air quiet” rather than whisper quiet. If you want fans you can sit right next to and have silence, the ML will leave you a little upset. Just keep in mind what you’re hearing is the air itself moving. Silent Wings these are not. They’ll move more air, but BQ wins in the audible department.

But GOOD LORD why did they have to use LINK?! It’s a real bummer when you’ve got a K70 RGB and M65 RGB, but you need two programs to run both and therefore can’t sync lighting profiles. Corsair, please integrate these two; I don’t see why you haven’t already.

Also, from an install front, you’ve got two extra pieces to figure out how to hide. I don’t know why the LED controller and fan hub couldn’t be one unit. I don’t know why I needed to sacrifice two SATA power connections and my motherboard’s only USB 2.0 header. And if your motherboard doesn’t have PWM headers, plan on having to cough up extra for a Commander Pro to gain the functionality. This kind of stuff is the headache that will put off lesser-experienced builders.

Finally, the price premium to go RGB is pretty ridiculous. I can almost buy 2 of the non-lit ML fans for the price of one of these. If you’re trying to stretch every dollar for a build, either save these for last or plan to upgrade later.

Really nice fans with Great looking RGBs. 5 EGGS!

Pros: -These are very high quality fans, come packaged like a premium product
-Customizable through Corsair Link
-Whisper quiet
-Magnetic levitation! Awesome tech.
-Fans look really nice in case
-Great cooling capabilities - impressive
-PWM control
-Customizable rubber sound dampening corners

Cons: -Corsair Link can be a little wonky sometimes (but it is serviceable)
-Kind of pricey for fans
-Not as high RPM as other 140mm fans
-LEDs in center of fan, not ring mounted (subjective I know, because I like them)
-Need extra peripherals to make fans work (Hub, Node Pro, etc...)

Other Thoughts: These are very high quality, nice fans. I just got a Fractal Define Design R6 case, so I got three of these RGB fans replacing the front two, and the rear exhaust with them. They look FANTASTIC. These fans also do a very good job cooling and moving air. The only down side to them is the need the Lightning Node Pro or Commander in addition to the Fan Hub to make the RGB work (which means a lot of wire management to be done). Finally got it looking ok, but boy did it take some time and a lot of cable ties. Corsair Link also can be a little strange too, but I uninstalled and reinstalled it, and it now seems to be working properly. Very happy with these fans. Boy does my rig look cool.

Beautiful low power RGB fans

Pros: - Aesthetically pleasing (even when powered off)
- RGB options and patterns are nearly limitless with included software
- Ability to make your own RGB profiles for endless light shows
-4 RGB LEDs each independently controlled
- Installs onto spare USB header on your mainboard (or standard USB)
- Fans startup on very low power, so you can spin them super slow
- Slightly quieter than your normal fans
- 5 year warranty

Cons: - Very pricey
- A lot of wires

Other Thoughts: installing these fans required a complete teardown of my tower, as wire management is kind of a burden. Each fan has two small wire harnesses, one for power and one for the LEDs. Then you have the primary control box with the USB cable, and the secondary control box the fans plug into. This quickly makes it troublesome to hide everything out of site, and would be best suited for a fresh build.
