Yes. It's a standard SATA III interface, so it can be used with laptops, desktops, single board computers (Banana Pi), NUC, etc.

No.  You don't seem to know what this is.  It connects exactly like any other disk drive with a 7 pin Serial ATA-600 Interface.  These cables are very likely in your system already if it's a desktop and are not necessary if you have a laptop. You might need a mounting bracket for a desktop system.

Yes, In fact I have 4 different bootable partition (not counting the boot partition and the ones Microsoft adds when it does a twice a year update)  on my 500GB on my 850 EVO.  I'm a programmer and the 1st partition is for my Home computing, 2nd partition for Main programing (Visual Studio 2017 Community), 3rd partition has Visual Studio 2010, 2013, 2015, 2017 this is so I can test code that is setup for different version of VS. 4th Partition is so I can test program that I download and If it causes problems I can uninstall it or restore the partition using my last backup from Veritas System Recovery 18 (this backup software used to be Norton Ghost and I have been using it for over 15 years.

No, it does not. It is only the bare drive and nothing else (including mounting hardware, software media, data cables, etc.)

yes. That laptop is already outfitted with a SSD and it should be as easy as removing the one it came with and putting the new one in. Just be aware that if you are removing the SSD that was installed from the factory you will need to re-install your operating system and drivers and you will no longer have access to anything on the removed SSD.

can you make this an "EXTERNAL" drive with a USB-C/USB-3 external case?

Yes, the Samsung 860 Evo SSD should work in an external USB 3.0 enclosure. However the Samsung Magician software will not recognize the drive plugged in via USB. So it will still work, but you will not be able to monitor the drive with the Samsung software until it is plugged in via SATA.

Unfortunately SSDs do not come with SATA cables so you will need to buy one if you don't have an extra one that may have came with your motherboard.  I would recommend the below item I have linked, hope this helps!

Hard drives normally DO NOT come with any cables unless it specifically states it when you purchase it.  A cable is cheap, buy one if it comes with one, you have a spare.

It uses the same cables as a normal hard drive. Power and SATA. I use the CD player cables to do a clone then just plug it into the old hard drive cables.
