Not a question, but a clarification. Apparently the one star reviewer doesn’t understand the difference between SAS and SATA. ?

Yes. SAS drives have an intentionally different connector that bridges the power and data portions; part of this is because SAS controllers can control SATA drives, but not the other way around (so regular SATA drives fit a SAS backplane connector), but also because often SAS drives have a second data channel for two-controller operation that lives in the middle piece (I'm not sure if these are two-channel drives). The reviewer presumably got these for use with a NAS that only supports SATA drives and found out the hard way that they're not compatible.

this new hdd has a different plug than my old seagate sata hdd i'm replacing, 7 pin it looks like. i didn't know. what adapter plug do i need? my motherboard only has the 7 pin.
