How long will data stay written to a SSD without being powered?

The amount of time an SSD will retain data depends on how worn out it is.  On consumer SSDs the TBW rating is with with at least 1 year of data retention.  So by the specs on the 512GB model, you can write 400TB to the drive at which point it is technically worn out and it will retain data for at least a year.  Commercial grade SSDs have a lower standard.  It's only 3 months of data retention which means they can show higher TBW numbers than an identical consumer drive because they don't have to retain data as long after they are "worn out".  SSDs will usually last quite a bit longer than their rated TBW

WIll this fit in my mid 2010 Macbook Pro ?

Enter an answer to tThis is a 7mm drive.  Oldest laptops with 2.5" HDDs were 11mm.  Next generation was 9mm (OK, some oddities @ 8MM)  I believe that these current 7mm drives are as thin as it gets.  Should fit into just about ant laptop, but if your original drive was thicker, you may need to make a filler pad out of some thin rubber sheeting or such.his question.

I'm considering these to replace my HDDs in an 8 year old tower. I see a lot of talk about laptops in the reviews. Will these work for me?

It definitely will function if you have SATA - I,II, or III connections. The only thing you may need, is a 2.5" to 3.5" tray adapter to fit it in your case without issues.

How does this work in RAID 0 (striping)?

I am not sure on the Raid 0, I'm just running it solo with win 10 pro x64. But I saw on the new egg site someone asked How does this drive work with Raid 0 striping--?   answer-- Just fine and you have 1 tb of storage with a raid 0. ADAT has a customer service facts website.   the answer I wrote above came from the new egg customer review on Feb 2017.  Also you can download from ADATA website, SSD toolbox and migration utility, which is a utility for working with adata ssd drives to set up raid and other things. Is this really SLC or is that just a misleading spec?

The SLC refers to the cache. It uses SLC cache to decrease wear on TLC 3D Nand. It's actually genius. The steps include DRAM --> ECC SLC cache --> TLC 3D Nand. If it was SLC, it would be much smaller capacities. But remember, even the Samsung 850 EVO uses "3bit" 3D Nand. 3bit is TLC. The wear rating on these 3D nand is actually really high. Much better than standard TLC and in many tests I looked through, much better than many MLC. (2bit)

Is there a software to monitor the health and does TRIM function?  
Is there a free clone software from the ADTA to copy the OS into this SSD?

No Adata software available. Be sure to set sata as ahci in bios before loading OS, and trim will work. You can use 3rd party clone software like minitool partition wizard. Also, be sure to optimize os settings, like power options, defrag off, superfetch off, adjust pahe filing, etc,. For best results.
