AMD FirePro W5000™ is the most powerful midrange workstation graphics card ever created, delivering significantly better performance than the competing card against a wide set of measurements. For example, it has the ability to process up to 1.65 billion triangles per second, allowing a designer to easily interact and render 3D models, while the competing solution is only able to process up to 0.41 billion triangles per second (up to four times less). In addition, with double the graphics memory (2GB vs 1GB of the competitor) and a memory bandwidth that is up to 2.5 times faster than the competitor, moderately complex models will be no match for the AMD FirePro™ W5000. It's the ideal solution for professionals working with a broad range of applications, moderately complex models and datasets, and advanced visual effects.
Features

Top Class Performance
The AMD FirePro W5000 is optimized and certified for major CAD and M&E applications delivering a TFLOP of single precision and 80 GFLOPs of double precision performance with outstanding reliability for the most demanding professional tasks. It uses Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture to efficiently balance-compute tasks with 3D workloads, enabling multi-tasking that is designed to optimize utilization and maximize performance. A multi-stream hardware H.264 HD encoder ensures power-efficient and quick video encoding.

AMD Eyefinity Technology with DisplayPort 1.2 Outputs
Industry-leading multi-display technology enables a highly immersive and unrivaled multi-tasking experience with innovative display capabilities supporting massive desktop workspaces, powered by a single AMD FirePro W5000 graphics card. The double DisplayPort 1.2 simultaneously sends multiple, independent audio streams and display content at resolutions beyond standard HD (maximum resolution of 4096 x 2160).

GeometryBoost
GeometryBoost allows the GPU to process geometry data at a rate of twice per clock cycle, which results in doubling the rate of primitive and vertex processing. Triangle rates increase two-fold relative to a GPU that does not possess GeometryBoost. The AMD FirePro W5000 delivers significantly higher triangle rates compared to its counterpart Nvidia Quadro 2000.

AMD PowerTune
AMD PowerTune is an intelligent system that performs real-time analysis of applications that utilize a GPU. In the event that an application is not making the most of the power available to the GPU, AMD PowerTune can improve that application's performance by raising the GPU's clock speed by up to 30% - automatically.

AMD ZeroCore Power
AMD ZeroCore Power technology leverages AMD's leadership in notebook power efficiency to grant your desktop GPUs the ability to power down when your monitor is off, also known as the "long idle state."

Pros: Good performance at a reasonable price point. Well suited for Solidworks 3D CAD or Adobe video editing applications like Premiere Pro and After Effects.
Cons: My FirePro W5000 graphics card worked well for the first month or so but I'm now having reliability problems. The graphics card is crashing often, especially when using a web browser like Firefox. Random color blocks often occur right before the user application window freezes or goes blank.
