AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Windsor Dual-Core 3.2 GHz Socket AM2 125W ADX6400CZWOF Processor

Pros: This thing is fast. I have this on an ASUS crosshair with an EVGA 8800 GTS and i ran bioshock and it was amazing. Very cool proc.

Cons: The only problem i had was when i bought this cpu i was building a fresh computer. so when i put it on my ASUS crosshair and added all the other gadgets to my case and turned on the power.... nothing came on the screen. I called ASUS and they said i needed to update my bios so it would work with that cpu!!! I was like what? how can i do that i cant turn it on! so ASUS is sending me a new upgraded BIOS. thats not AMD's fault for making a cpu so strong the mobo cant handle it lol. but might wanna watch out for that. anyone else have that problem?

Overall Review: its sweet!!! and newegg is the cheapest around!

Pros: Fast. Very Fast. No need to OC, But can be done easily with excellent results (3556 @ 38 C). Handels everything I have thrown at it and has exceeded my expectations. Will be getting more for other systems

Overall Review: This is the best processor AMD has released in a while. If this this is a hint of things to come the the next gen "Phenom" will be Phenominal. Been in the industry for over 25 yrs. Pros: This is the last hurrah for the K8 cores before AMD moves to the new K10 Phenom cores and baby is it a big hurrah. I use this with a 4GB DDR2 RAM, ASUS Crosshair mobo, 8800GTS KO ACS2 640MB, and it makes the new Crysis demo flow like melted butter. The 6400 is powerful enough to manage Crysis's needs.

Cons: Hot like habenero sauce. I recommend using a Artic Cooler 64 Freezer heatsink and fan combo.

Overall Review: No lie when I tell ya this baby can handle one of the most CPU demanding games to date with relative ease. I love AMD and will continue to support them.

Pros: With the introduction of the AMD Phenom quad cores, one might think this X2 is rendered obsolete,- and they would be mistaken; the X2 6400 is currently the best combination of speed and stability for gaming,- and (not having the as yet unresolved memory killing problems of the Intel 6801 MOBO's), and making the most efficient use of AM2 X2 memory bus,- so much so that if the 6400 had been built and released on the Brisbane core with new 65nm and still had 2MB L2 cache vs the (2x512MB Brisbane core uses),- it would have significantly outpaced AMD's new Phenom X4 processor in benchmarks (as it already does with 6400 X2's with 90nm process in some that favor gaming). Until gaming software programmers begin to take advantage of X4 cores, AMD made a wise choice not to offer a Brisbane Black Box of the 6400 X2,- though it would have been nice to have had such a beastie.

Cons: Not done on Brisbane with 65nm tech, which could have run slightly cooler and at lower voltage,- but not really an issue.

Overall Review: This is a great processor at an excellent pricepoint. I would still take proficient speed and stability of the X2 6400 with stable AM2 590 MOBO chipset over any comparable current Intel X2 with 680i chipset MOBO.

Pros: this CPU is great.. one thing it doesn't lack is power :)

Cons: price keeps dropping after i bought :(

Overall Review: well 2 cars going at 60mph can carry more people then 1 car going at 120mph. so even though its not technically 6.4ghz it can carry twice the load of a single 3.2ghz processor.

Pros: Fast. Dang fast. I upgraded from a 4400+ and it upped my benchmark scores by 2097 points, and took the Vista rating from a 4.3 to a 5.8, thats awesome. Easy to install, simply pop the old one out, and the new one in. And on top of that, NewEgg rocks. I ordered on Tuesday, and recieved it on Thursday. (From California to Alaska, thats pretty dang fast!)

Cons: Does run warmer, though thats to be expected, better have some good cooling.

Pros: It is the top of the live for dual core AMD processors in the Athalon line. Everything and I mean everything that I do on my system is faster. Playing games, booting up, rendering with Maya 8.5, ect. What more can you ask for at the price it is sold at? I practically feel like I robbed somebody! :) AMD rules for the price.

Cons: This processor is HOT. Get a serious fan like a Zalman to keep this one cool. No stock fans for this sucker. :) And some Arctic Silver helps too. I got a Zalman 110 mm fan with some Arctic Silver. This hot dual core now runs at an average of 32 degrees C. Very nice indeed.
