Will it work with an MSI B350 Tomahawk mobo?

It should, but with a little work. I bought a Gigabyte AB350N motherboard back in January so, as with any of the 300 series motherboards, it is compatible after updating the bios on the motherboard. You might first want to check to see if there is an updated bios for your motherboard that is compatible with the new Ryzen processors. After that, you need an older AM4 processor in order to update the bios. If you don’t have one easily available to you, you can contact the company that made your motherboard and they can potentially update the bios after you ship them the motherboard. If the motherboard manufacturer does not want to update the bios, then AMD allows for you to reach out to them and, with valid proof that you bought the CPU and Motherboard as well as proof of conversations with the motherboard manufacturer, they will send you an older AM4 socket CPU that you can use to update your bios. After you update the bios, the mobo and CPU should be compatible and you are free to install your Ryzen 2000 CPU.

tldr: It will work but you need to do some work to update the bios

Would one recommend an aftermarket cooler for this chip or is the stock one fine, and what about the regular 2600 is that fine with the stock cooler or should an aftermarket a better idea?

Hello Damion,

There are a few things you should keep in mind when considering an aftermarket cooler vs. the stock Wraith cooler that the CPU comes with.

First is, do you plan on overclocking?  The Wraith Spire cooler is a much needed improvement in stock coolers but still falls short when compared to aftermarket coolers when overclocking.  If you do not plan on overclocking then the stock cooler will suffice.

Next thing to consider is the type of system you are building.  If this CPU is going in a tower case with plenty of room and airflow, this will also be sufficient.  But if you plan on using the CPU in a smaller case like a Mini ITX case similar to the Fractal Design Node 202, this cooler will not fit in such a small case and a low profile cooler will be needed if that is the case.

In short, you don't NEED an aftermarket cooler if you do not intend to push the CPU to its limits.  However, if you plan on doing a more aggressive overclock or are installing it inside a very small system, an aftermarket cooler would definitely be advised.  No matter how you look at it though, an aftermarket cooler will likely provide better thermal performance than a stock cooler so if you just want something to keep your CPU cooler than stock, an aftermarket cooler would also be advised.

The stock cooler on this Ryzen 5 2600x is a great air cooling solution and especially when pair with a case with good airflow. Reviews show that the cooling provided by the stock cooler is great for being a cooler included with the CPU.

how do you run dual monitors with this cpu? I have an nvidia geforce gtx 1060 6gb. When I plug an hdmi into the mobo and another hdmi into the gpu it only detects the gpu hdmi.

This CPU doesn't have a GPU built in.  It's a CPU, not an APU.

To get dual monitors to run with this system, you will need to plug both monitors into the GPU card.

This is more of a motherboard question than cpu question. You can but check the motherboard supported ram list to be sure it will work at its best.  I have used ram that was not on the list but it doesn't mean you will have the same result.

No. But it's a good cooler still. Way better than Intel's stock coolers

Any recommendations for a graphics card for a business machine?

It depends on what you are doing on the business machine. If you aren't doing anything with heavy graphics loads such as video editing or gaming, you would be fine with anything from a radeon rx 300. If you are doing something that depends on the graphics card, you should pick something much higher like a radeon vega series or higher. I hope this helps you make your decission.

The Asrock X370 Taichi mobo calls for the 2600X(YD260XBCM6IAF). This is the 2600X(YD260XBCAFBOX). Has anyone put this in the Asrock X370 Taichi?         Thanks

This would be compatible with the x370 Taichi. However, you may need to update the BIOS to get the CPU and motherboard to be compatible. Please check the board manufacturer for updated BIOS.

I had a problem installing the cpu.  slightly bent a couple pins. Any suggestions? Help!

You're only real option is to lookup some youtube video about bending them back in place and hope it still works happens sometimes you get lucky. I think you already know the worst case scenario.
