Pros: The video quality is excellent. The sound is a little weak, but not really a problem. Setup was fast and easy, although the instructions are pretty basic. You can not view this on your local network. As I understand it, video has to go out to the company servers and be sent back to your computer in the same room. So, if you have a metered internet connection, be aware of this. But, the usage is remarkably low for such a high definition image. The 7-day storage is free, and for my uses adequate. I just want to be able to review footage if something happened while I was gone overnight. More than 7 days requires a paid service. The camera has excellent battery life. Mine has been on for 3 days and battery charge is still over 90% I am estimating it would take a month to run the battery all the way down.
Cons: I bought this package to try Arlo products. Some friends have Arlo systems and seem to be very happy with them. I'm used to IP cameras that I can connect directly to and the video never leaves my local network. Not sure I like relying on the internet to pass and store my video. But, the price is certainly right. One caveat...I believe this product is discontinued as I have been unable to find additional cameras to add to my base station. I had planned on having 4 or 5 cameras on the system, but it looks like this may not be possible now.
Overall Review: I like the product, although having to connect to a remote server to view video from a camera in the next room introduces at least 8 seconds of delay from real time. But, I can live with it. The downside is, if your internet goes down, as mine did a few days ago, the camera is useless...no recording, no live viewing. Also, the Pro 2 model appears to be a discontinued product, as I can not find anywhere to buy individual add-on cameras.
