ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 AM3+/AM3 AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: This is a quality board for the money and is a reasonably expandable platform. I've been running this board for just under a year and have had no problems with dual-graphics, bios and CPU compatibility. There are much more advanced boards on the market right now but for a budget build this will give you a solid foundation for performance with minimal dollars.

Cons: Knowing what direction I want to go with my pc now, I find I would have liked another SATA plug. There is a little board flex but if it's properly bolted down (and you're not smashing it around like an ape) there is no problem. It's consistent with the quality offered by other companies in this price-point.

Overall Review: I added an egg to make up for the hamfisted 1 egg review.

Pros: Great, as usual. I have been an asrock fan for a while, if not asrock I usually will go the asus route. Either way asrock as the same quality as asus, and usually cheaper or more bang for your buck. I have owned it for over 2 years now, built it for my son. Even after 2 years its still a great mobo. Everything listed is accurate.

Cons: Beware though, in the past 2 years twice this has happened: as mentioned I built it for my son. He has been a bobble head more then once and dirty downed the pc by shuting it off by the power button. In most cases, still probably won't hurt the computer, but still not a good idea. Well 2 times the computer was shut down like this it would not start. Long story short it would not work with more then one stick of ram. The fix remove 1 stick of ram, reload bios factory default then restart load one additional stick of ram and restart again. Repeating this cycle for every stick of ram. This had me baning my head against the wall for like a month the first time this happened. Figured I would pass my exp. on to the next guy. I am also told now though the the new bios update fixed this problem, which I did. Havent had the problem since.

Overall Review: I would buy again now that there is a bios fix. To the guy higher up, I could see why he thought his motherboard and ram was dead, cause the first time I thought the same thing. Your computer won't do nothing! Just remember my fix if you have this problem, but you really shouldn't.

Pros: The board ran fine has a decent bios. Good tools that you can access from the desktop to adjust fan speeds and what not

Cons: Owned this for a little more than. 18 months. Normal use. Today the board caught fire. Literally had flames on it. The short happens by on of the silver capacitor looking things close to the CPU. I assumed I would get a little more life from this board but I assumed wrong.

Overall Review: Did what it needed to do until it didn't. Glad I was home when it happend. Hopefully it didn't cook my CPU or GPU

Pros: - Inexpensive (when I bought it) -- praying I get the $35 rebate. - Attractive and comprehensive BIOS config interface. - Rock-solid performance.

Cons: - XFast advertising is potentially misleading... it's just software. - Some components (SATA ports, chipset heatsinks) seem a little loose on the motherboard. - Can't figure out how to get the keyboard backlight to turn off on Sleep. - Can't figure out how to get a BIOS POST screen/logo on startup. - No on-board video.

Overall Review: I'm not an "extreme" overclocker. I installed 1866 RAM and boosted the base CPU clock up 5 MHz. Everything runs cool and rock solid with an FX-8320, Hyper 212 Plus cooler and G.Skill memory. The XFast LAN software is nice. I haven't tried the USB or RAM software. I'm somewhat fearful of the USB software but I've seen that it actually works and the latter is just a ram disk solution.

Pros: -Nice UEFI bios -Easy overclocking -Easy to review

Cons: -PCI slots are a bit tight with some cards. Makes it a little hard to swap cards without damaging the board.

Pros: -Easy install -Straightforward BIOS -Fast boot is really fast -Stable -Runs cool (North bridge the hottest -Good Sata cables

Cons: -Oddly placed USB 3 pins -Only 2 Sata cables

Overall Review: I went back and forth with this motherboard because of the rating, and decided to get it and it has been wonderful. Currently running a FX-6350, XFX 290A EDBD, and 8gb of Kingston Fury X 1866 mhz and everything is great. BIOS is really easy to navigate and the features on the baord such as FastLan and FastUSB and Fast Boot are really nice. For $75.00 I'm not really sure what else I would want from a motherboard. ASrock was very quick to confirm my mail in rebate. I think I will continue to put my faith in them for my future motherboard needs.

Pros: I read bad feedback about this , so i wait before leaving feedback. I run this with my Amd Cpu 8 Cores 8350 at 4.0Ghz. No problem at all! It run Very fast, and the feature Xboost realy work, you don't need a ssd to make it boot real fast, it boot at 2 sec in Windows 8.1 with regular Blue Wd hard drives. 64G DDR3 Support, Crossfire very user freindly for OC. 2 fron and to reer usb 3.0 Super buy at this price, + I receive my mail check today. YOu can Trust This!

Cons: 64 DDR3 Memory its awesome, but you can get high cores. its support high 2400 but at OC, otherwise i will take 1333 MHZ

Overall Review: I Run my Gamer pc with this MB 32 MB Memory Dual Extra large GPU HD6970 FX 8350 At 4.0 no need to OC Water cooling ETc Work more then good A++++

Pros: I've had this board for over a month now. It's fast, stable and has lots of features at a great price.

Cons: Everything worked great until I bought 2x8gb hyperX (hx316c10fbk2/16). The system is stable with normal use including hours of gaming, but when I start Prime95 it crashes within seconds. I've tried every SPD setting with no luck, the RAM works in two other motherboards without problems. I've tried one stick at a time and tried it in all four slots with no luck. I'm running bios 1.60. I've tried 2x2gb and 4x2gb of other brands of ram and works great. I'm hoping a bios update will fix the problem.
