Question 5

I keep hearing a difference between Samsung and Hynix memory. Does anyone know which this has?

Pretty sure I read on a few diff forums discussing this and ending in all vega 64 ref have samsung hbm. The one I received has samsung(phantom x).

I think it does support crossfire, I have a 550 EVGA g3 and that’s considered border line to run these I pull 250w just the card alone at load. No over clocking two 8 pins pcie power cables.

How hot does it run?

By default the fan profile is pretty conservative and it will easily reach 85° C or so and start throttling. After tweaking it stays below 75° C during normal usage (Rocket League), but still heats up quick running furmark.

I haven't yet managed to get the automatic fan controller to scale the fan speed beyond ~2770 RPM, but I can manually set the fan to go much faster (> 4000 RPM) and that keeps it cool even running furmark. It does get significantly louder when going that speed though.

Is this card using a reference PCB layout and will a reference Vega aftermarket waterblock fit?
