difference between a 1vs 2 gb card?

Think of it like RAM in relation to your processor. It can only get information in and out so fast. Therefore the more RAM you have the larger of a buffer you get allowing the processor to work more efficiently. Graphics cards are basically a processor/RAM dedicated to calculating and delivering the 1's and 0's that make an image on your screen.
Simply put, Bigger is better, but only if you use it. Why own a Ferrari if you're only going to drive 35mph?

It's a good mid range card for price pretty powerful I have it in a heavily modified dell 570 AMD tower with a 500D watt antec green and a phenom 2 910E x4 and 8gb of ram and 1tb WD green built as a quiet media center and can play most of the new AAA titles like Skyrim AC black flag COD Ghosts Far cry 3 Rome total war 2 and BF4 on med to high and will be good for at least the next six months to a year was thinking of crossfiring mine if i build a new custom corsair computer rig best bang for buck card on AMDs side don't know if they updated the drivers yet though

It is compatible. This video card was purchased as a birthday present for my husband. His computer is running windows 8.1. He has been pretty happy with the card. The only concern about the car is that it runs hot. We ended up having the first card replaced because it was overheating. The replacement card was also running hot - but not overheating. We removed the heat sink and applied some artic silver thermal paste and have not had any issues since.

will it run on XP?

While you may find XP drivers for this card on AMD's support site. I do not think Asus has XP support for this card. I think you would be better served with an older card or upgrade to Windows 7 pro. Most of the features and ability's of this card are not supported by XP.

How do you what motherboard is compatible to this video card?

Just check the web site of your motherboard maker and it should tell you which type of video cards are compatible. My system is has a AsRock 970 Extreme4 board - AMD Phenom II X6 1100T cpu - 24 GB DC DDR3 1300  Memory - ASUS DirectCU II HD 7790-DCOC Radeon HD 7790 2GB 128-bit GDDR5 video card which was a very easy install. No problems thus far, extremely quiet. Really rocks at max settings on everything I throw at it.

Yes it does support dual monitors, in fact it supports more than two. There is no degradation with dual monitors @ 1920x1080 , if you start adding more than two monitors or have monitors with resolutions higher than 1920X1080, it will likely start impacting performance.  The higher your resolution, and the more monitors you have, the more impact there will be.

as far as I know, only with another of the same, which I planned to do, but after installing 1 I found i didn't need to. I use it for editing high def. video and it works great

What is the lowest power supply that can run this at a good speed?

I'm using a 1000 Watt Rosewill Lightning PSU. But when I had first function tested the card, I ran it in a system using a Coolermaster 420 Watt. It seemed to run fine and didn't appear to be power hungry even on higher settings. The specs on the product page says this card draws up to 150 Watts. Still, taking into account the other items which may be in your system I would recommend a higher wattage for this card. Perhaps a minimum of 530 or so. You will need a single six pin PCIE connector for this card. Two if you Crossfire. In that set up, I would say a 650 or better, preferably 750. In my experience the higher the wattage, the better a PSU can handle the draw from the system as a whole. After my experience with multiple 12V rails, I have gone to using only single rail units.

Hello, I was wondering how to get this guy to work with uefi bios. The manufacturer website says that it "does not nativity support UEFI bios"?

Go to Asus website for this product and then to specifications page. At bottom of page note they tell you to go to support and download utility for fix on Asus MB. If you have a different MB you may be stuck although I can't see why running this card with UEFI MB would cause a problem. Unless you have a MB that has onboard graphics that has no way to shut down. It would be helpful to know what MB Manufacture and model you have.
