Does this card require an external power plug?

I just ordered this card and have not yet installed it, so I checked ASUS website and it DOES REQUIRE a 6-pin power adapter, which comes out of your PSU. I strongly recommend a SeaSonic GX-850 PSU anyway, because it is incredibly reliable and provides plenty of juice for almost all PC gaming buildings (mid-to high end builds) and it has a modular system of cables, and they do have the 6-pin power cable you need to power up this card. Having its own power source is better than putting the strain on the PCI-3.0 slot, which pushes more energy through the MoBo (Motherboard) and can shorten the life of the MoBo overtime. My .02 cents on the issue. Look up this card at ASUS site, the manual clearly states it does need its own power source.
