Does this board support NVMe as boot drive? Notice it just states storage in the specs.

If I was only going to use the on-board video, is there a need to get the CPU with the GPU in it?  Or does the mobo have its own?

Well, as you may know, Ryzen  motherboards do non have their own on-board video like the intel boards.  IF you were going to go the route of buying this mother board and not buying a discrete graphics card, I think you'd be wasting your money.  To answer your question the ryzen chipset 2400G or 2400ge would be your best shot for on board gaming as you get the best of both both worlds.

Im getting ryzen 3000 will the bios come up to date?

This may or may not work, as it depends when the MB was shipped and what bios it presently has; however, if you already have the 470 board and want to upgrade from an older processor then you should be able to update the bios prior to the new Zen 3000. If you are planning on purchasing the CPU and MB  I'd suggest just getting the 570 board? The problem that I have in trying to answer your question is that I simply don't have enough information. With all that said, you might get into the bios with a 3000 chip and then upgrade the bios once you are in.

will this motherboard support a gddr6 gpu?

Your question is invalid...
Memory type of GPU has nothing to do with motherboard.
GDDR is isolated to the Video card itself.
As long as your GDDR6 GPU is PCIe 3.0x16 compatible you are good.

However, the new PCIe 4.0x16 is out, so if your GPU suggests that, then you need a newer motherboard.
If you want to be safe you should go with the new ASUS Prime X570-Pro motherboard, which has the PCIe4.0x16. It'll have the latest tech and definitely support the latest GPUs out right now.

Will this work with the new gen (3rd) ryzen?

From what I've heard we're not 100 percent sure.  It will most likely work with 3rd gen Ryzen processors, however some features like, PCIE Gen 4 might not be available.  So the Processors will work. But you may be missing out on some other features, unless Asus can do some kind of compatibility patch or firmware update for the motherboard.  I would wait for reviews of Ryzen 3 before making a purchase if at all possible.

Just bought this board along with a Ryzen 7 2700 Processor.  When I try to boot, I get No VGA Detected.  Do I need to buy a separate graphics  board?
