Pros: - Beautiful aesthetics - Solid build with a hefty weight out of the box - Very easy to use and put together physically, no convoluted plates or messy screw systems - "Fancy" features like the "PCIE Q-Slot" release button and "M.2 Q-LATCH" were nice quality of life features, able to install components with less screws / extra parts easy to transfer from one case to another. - Has a dual mounting holes for (LGA 1700 / LGA 1200) which was fantastic so I could reuse my Kraken without any issues or needing extra mounting kits.
Cons: - Probably more software than hardware issues but worth noting: - Had to fiddle around with the Boot tab in the BIOS particularly with the CSM as the board would not read any of my 1 x m.2 / 2 x HDD / 1 x SSD drives on boot out of box causing a BIOS boot loop till I played around with those settings and was able to get my drives read. - Arrived with the first version bios on release which out of the box had a lot of instability with DDR5 and 12900k,. freezing, crashes, very very long boot times, unable to read drives or reverting BIOS settings to default randomly etc. so had to immediately flash the latest BIOS from the support page which seemed to clear up a lot of the issues (Note that Armory did not update or recommend any latest BIOS ver, so without checking the support page for the board I wouldn't have known it was like 4 versions out of date, out of box. - A bit of a personal nit pick, the HDD activity orange indicator light on the bottom right corner of the board is obnoxiously bright and irritating, had to put some electrical tape over it to get some visual peace of mind because theres no way to turn it off otherwise.
Overall Review: - Would totally recommend to anyone that is in love with the features / design looks of the board just wish it was a bit of a smoother experience out of the box. - Highly highly recommend as soon as you get windows running (Check CSM options if none of your bootable drives were detected (at least in my case)) to flash the latest bios off the Asus support driver page and update the motherboard, cleared up a lot of the issues I was encountering right off the bat. - Other than that Im pretty happy with the board and don't regret buying it after smoothing out the kinks.
