does this thing have Wifi?

Yes, it comes with dual-band 802.11ac capability, and an external antenna that's a simple plug in on the back panel (so it pulls out in case of accidentally tripping over the wire or something instead of damaging the connection. The external antenna is slightly magnetized too, so it can sit safely on top of a computer case or where ever you want to put it.

Does this board support an i7-6700k? or does  it only support the new 2011-V3 CPUs?

Accepted Answer

No, this motherboard does NOT support an I7-6700K. It only supports LGA2011-v3 processors. The I7-6700K is LGA 1151, and will not work on this board.

Question 3

Will this Motherboard work with the  Intel Boxed Core i7-6850K Processor.?

I type this now with a 6850k through the Rampage V 10.  Works great.  Though the 6000k series does overclock less than the 5000k series.  However, it benchmarks nearly the same at 4.3ghz as a 5930k does at 4.5ghz.  Don't expect higher numbers, expect better performance than the 5930k at much lower power consumption.  It is sort of a side step when compared to the 5930k.  Skylake-X will be out in about a year.  So these are your best options til then.  Skylake-X I read will be a 2066 socket.  So this will probably be the end of the 2011v3 socket.

Is this board Broadwell E 6950X 25M compatable ?

Yes, the Rampage V Edition 10 is LGA 2011-v3 (Socket R3). This socket type is compatible with all Sandy Bridge-E, Sandy Bridge-EP, Ivy Bridge-E, Haswell-E, Haswell-EP, and Broadwell-E series cpu's.
The 6950x is part of the Broadwell-E series.

Does anyone know how to remove plastic from in between Pre-mounted I/O shield on this motherboard? or even if you can?

You can, but I wasn't able to easily, and it seemed to be possible to get all of it off completely. I ended up scratching it up :(. So then i realized I could tuck the little bit left that wouldn't come out inside so it can't be seen. I would say pull what you can out, and tuck whatever is left with a thin card, or piece of cardboard. Like a business card or something.

Does this come with a 10gb ethernet port?

No. The user manual lists 2 LAN controllers. Intel I218-V and Intel I211-AT. Intel's site lists both as 1 GbE. Given the large number of PCIe Gen 3 slots on the board I think it's possible to plug in an add-in LAN card to meet your needs.

Witch EVGA HB SLI (Slot Space) should i get by Fully Maintaining 16+16 PCI?

if you are getting the EVGA brand HB bridge you should get the two slots spacing, if you're getting the Nvidia brand HB bridge you should get the four slots spacing ,  they are the same thing but they name them differently.  this will connect the first and the third slot and he will get 16 PCI  in both cards,  I hope this helps.

What case are you using for this board?

I used a Lian-Li PC-O9 WRX.  Beautiful case!  It is a tight fit.  If you go this route, please note that you need to route big connector cables, like the motherboard power cables through the grommet holes before fully mounting the motherboard in the case.  Also, anytime you need to replace or remove those cables, you will have to unseat the motherboard to pull the cables back through the grommet holes.

Just for a visual, the motherboard covers about half the width of the vertically aligned grommet holes.  The grommet holes closest to the front near where the fans are mounted in the glass chamber side of the case.

Hoping someone can help.  If I enable the u.2 port on this board,  it limits my graphics card in slot 1 to X8. This is the only pcie device II have right now.  Does anyone know how to get around this? . Thanks

Guys head up and be aware,,  If you purchase the Intel 6800K processor you will be limiting you PCIe lanes to 28.  This is the design of the processor.   The 6850K, 6900K, and 6950K all support  40 lane PCI e as does the motherboard.  if you put the 6800k on this board you will throttle it down to 28 lanes.

Just a heads up. I see one person give an unfair review for the motherboard simple because he didn't do research on the PCIe lane limitation of the Processor he chose.  it's not a Board problem.

Question 10

2 questions. 1 has anyone had any issues sleeping and waking this board? 2 how has it held up? Pretty scared given the reviews to unbox and use it.

Yes there was an issue, when you put it to sleep it tends to wake up on its own. Not very much on waking it up. However this was resolved when a firmware update was done. All in  all this is an amazing board, I had no issues with stability or hanging.
