Ah, I just ordered one of these on 6/21 and then read about the incorrect screw torque causing overheating. Can anyone confirm that current inventory has the fix?

While I can't confirm the stock status of individual sellers; It is unlikely that any authorized/reputable seller would still be pushing defective cards. Back in February, Asus put out a notice for owners, of the afflicted models, to send in their cards for a "Screw Upgrade". Sellers of any remaining models likely took Asus up on their offer(if not a full stock swap). While Steve has already learned of his fate, I will post the published model numbers below for any concerned owners.

Browsing various forums, I've been unable to find further reports of mounting issues beyond the initial batch. However, if someone does find themselves with one of the problematic models (listed above) ;  Asus' "Screw Upgrade" service should still be active. I would contact their support team for confirmation.

can the stock fans be replaced?

Most fan assemblies can be replaced with just a nice magnetic-screwdriver and a steady hand. Each card is different, some easier than others, but it should be pretty straight forward. That being said, only replace if you're off warranty(at your own risk)!

I'm answering because I recently had to replace a fan on my Rx 580 Strix and so it's fresh on my mind. I will be making the assumption that it's a very similar layout. To start things off, it needs to be out of the case and on a clean table(or a cardboard box if you prefer). Oh, and a place to keep track of the screws. They could be of different sizes/lengths so best to separate them. I think I can hear someone worried about grounding! I wouldn't be but you can always use your power supply exhaust area as a ground if you are worried about static discharge (just touch it every so often). With all that out of the way...

To begin we need to remove the plastic shroud. On my card there are three screws on the shroud facing the Motherboard (PCI side) and three more in the fan well. Just align the blades and gently unscrew(This is when you'll be thankful for that magnetic screwdriver). Before lifting off, near the power connector, at the end of the card, there should be the ARGB cable. Gently disconnect(careful as it's fragile). Once you have that unplugged, slowly lift off the shroud. If it doesn't easily lift off just double check that you've not missed any screws. You will then see the three fans daisy-chained together.

There are four screws under each fan. Just unscrew those badboys, disconnect the fan header, Pop in those shiny new fans and rewind!

I know a "Yes or No" would have sufficed but personally would have wanted a more detailed reply.  Fans are usually the first thing to go awry on video cards (past warranty ofc) and is a relatively easy fix but, as I implied earlier, if your fan does die, it's best to have Support make an oopsie than you!

There are. Performance-wise it's marginally better than all the other 5700XTs but it's literally unnoticable. Cooling-wise it's good enough but there are marginally better options. Overall, it's overpriced for what you get. The Red Devil is pretty much the same but $20 cheaper. You shouldn't be looking to spend more than $440 on a 5700XT unless you need it right now and it's the only thing in stock.

I have a card bought in Dec. 20190 befoire the isasue was cought in the factory. I have been told to send it in and they will fix it. Well this is My only Video card and Id like them to send me a kit with the screws etc. as Noctura has done, they trusUs to be able to di it ourselves. I hoping they will send it to me. till then i put PC on its side and temps went up 10 c

Bought one in Oct. 2020. The one I got has a manufacturer number listed in recall, but very much appears to be fixed. the 4 sprung screws around GPU, almost completely compress the springs, and the heads of the two screws toward the back plate logo come very close to the PCB. Gave mine a hard time checking.
