Quality Delivered by ASUS2/8/2022 7:58:16 PM
Pros: - mATX with plenty of features
- Easy to work with
- Supports latest Gen hardware
Cons: None
Overall Review: Coming from a Maximus IX Hero and wanting to stay with ASUS for an Alder Lake setup, I searched for a smaller form factor this time around and this was the only SKU available. ASUS delivered, once again, with a quality motherboard that packs plenty of features (most which I dont even use) and a stable product from what I have seen so far.
The board is very easy to work with and if I had to complain about anything, it would be the 24 and 4 pin (aux EPS) connectors. Not really a con but when connecting my PSU cables, it was a bit hard to for the cable clip to seat all the way. I tried with the supplied cables from my PSU as well as custom sleeved cables. In the end, I got them to seat but it required a bit of force.
One more issue I encountered, again not a con in my opinion, is that Im unable to run my RAM with XMP enabled. At first, I only had 2x16GB @ 5600 Dom sticks which ran perfectly fine. Adding another kit, same model, speeds, and memory manufacturer (Samsung) for a total of 4x16 sticks, I was no longer able to post with XMP enabled. I realize that with a new memory controller, trace layouts, etc, that this could end up happening and may eventually get ironed out with a BIOS update (currently running 1003) so I dont think its worth deducting an egg for. Im ok with my RAM running at 4000MT/s for now with the ability to manually tweak the timings myself if I need to. Overall, this is a great board!

Frustrating3/25/2022 7:19:00 PM
Pros: Matched specific form factor and specs I needed
Cons: Failed to deliver.
Overall Review: First ASUS board in years after some bad experiences. Wanted a specific form factor, only two on the market are ASRock or this.
Stalled at install due to bad ethernet connection. Wifi fails, too.
Turns out the ethernet connection is just spamming packets throughout the network. Cripples whole house. First time for everything, I guess.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear Anonymous,
I'm sorry to hear about your issue with the ethernet connection and the WIFI. All our products do go through an intensive quality control testing process to ensure that customers get units that are in proper working condition, what you've experienced was not intentional and this was a random case. Have you tried to completely reinstall the driver? Please refer to the steps below. For further troubleshooting, feel free to reach out to me at customerloyalty@asus.com and provide this link for reference. I'll do my best to provide a quick resolution to your case. Your feedback is important as it helps with improvements to ASUS Support channels.
Thank you for choosing ASUS!

Working Well So Far1/25/2022 11:10:12 AM
Pros: - Solid construction
- Chipset maintains low temps
- Included heatsink for nvme ssd
- Great included wifi adapter (if you use wifi)
- Been running 24/7 for a couple months with an i1200k and gtx 1090 in an mATX case -- no issues.
Cons: No complaints
Overall Review: You get what you pay for. Costs more than comparable board from Asrock, but the quality certainly won't be matched.

Can't Rollback AI Overclock. Overheats with Ryujin II 360 AIO12/28/2021 9:19:25 PM
Overall Review: This motherboard paired with the Ryujin II 360 AIO has been giving me a lot of grief. It passed Prime95 stress test for over an hour, but started overheating to 100C+ while gaming. No way to rollback the Bios to before enabling AI Overclock. I will never buy ASUS again.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and I certainly understand your frustration. Try clearing your CMOS by removing the disk-like battery while your system is completely powered on and is unplugged to ensure all system settings are set back to default. If the issues persist, feel free to contact me if you have any technical or general questions. You can reach me at cl-adrian@asus.com. Your case for reference is N2112045593-0001.
Thank you for choosing ASUS!
Best Regards,

Pros: High quality
Lots of RGB
3 M.2 slots
1200/1700 cooler option
Cons: Slow to post
Amory Crate software
Overall Review: I usually use ITX boards but my case also takes M-atx so I tried this board. First thing I notice is post time, Best I could do with this board was 13secs, which for me is quite high, But I did notice that unlike ALL other Intel Z690 boards that I tried, this board powers on right away after a power loss, Unlike the others that have a 2.5-4sec delay, but even with this attribute, it still posted slower than most, and that is with fast boot and no storage devices attached, attach a usb storage device, regardless of speed and it will add several secs to Asus boards, why they take so long to check a non-boot device is way beyond me. Board did see my G.Skill 6000 ram perfectly and XMP worked without issues. Using the one button click with the Amory crate software to Oc the system achieved good results with minimal heat increase. Of course the Amory crate software has around a zillion services running which concerns me. Rgb lights worked well, software worked well, Fan control was good. Unlike the Msi control center the Amory crate software was stable at all times. My benchmarks on this board were comparable to the Other Intel competitors, If this board would post quicker I would of kept it, but my MSI Meg Unify posts quicker and runs just as well.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear Douglas C,
I'm sorry to hear that your unit is posting a bit slower. It is normal for a motherboard with different hardware configurations to boot faster/slower than the other. We can't confirm if it's an actual issue. If you detect any technical concerns, feel free to reach out to me at customerloyalty@asus.com and provide this link for reference. I'll do my best to provide a quick resolution to your case. Your feedback is important as it helps with improvements to ASUS Support channels.
Thank you for choosing ASUS.
