Did you need to update bios to work with gen 14 Intel processors before it would boot?

No updated needed for me with an ASUS ROG Strix Z790-A Gaming WiFi II from NewEgg back in mid-October. It was able to boot using an Intel Core i7-14700KF without any BIOS update. (I wasn't able to see the BIOS using the displayport, but HDMI did not have that problem.) FYI, I have since updated my MB's BIOS to version 0801, released Dec 22, 2023, without any issue.

If you have this MB, did you have to update the BIOS before your 14th generation intel processor would work??

The bios supported the processor out of the box however i did the update anyway directly from the tool inside the bios. You do not need to use a USB or have an O/S installed to update it.

will it work with windows 10?

Sure. If you go to the manufacture's website, they have drivers listed for Windows 10 64-bit.
