Pros: I like the keyboard a lot for gaming.
Cons: The keyboard has tall keys which make rapid typing a bit difficult at times. But for me the main problem was that the "L" key LED would not light. So the L key remained dark no matter what adjustments I made.
Overall Review: NewEgg sent the keyboard from a state right next to me (NJ), but insisted that I return the keyboard to California for a replacement. They charged me 16 bucks for the return, when it should have been 8 or 9 bucks maximum. This type of nickel and dime approach to customer service has me thinking that NewEgg just isn't that interested in my business.
Pros: -The keys are crisp and responsive. -All of the media & LED buttons feel very well made. -The customize-able LED's are easy to set up (and the adjustable brightness is nice too). -Swapping out the default WASD and 1-6 keys is very easy to do. -The snap on hand rest seems fairly durable. I wouldn't be afraid of it breaking even if I had to attach and remove it regularly. -The thick USB cord has a real nice feel to it, and the para cord wrap on it is a nice touch. -Surprisingly, the angled WASD keys are not a distraction while typing, and are very nice to have when playing games.
Cons: -The volume adjustment roller has the slightest bit of wiggle from side to side. -The optional set of textured 1-6 keys do not have their special characters marked on them (exclamation mark, at symbol, etc.), but if you are familiar with a keyboard it won't be a problem. -The Corsair gaming logo isn't bad. It has a kind of cool design, but instead of putting it straight onto the metal of the keyboard, they set it in this rectangle of plastic. It's not a deal breaker, but it does detract from the aesthetics of an otherwise very aesthetically pleasing keyboard. -Also should be mentioned, MX Blues are NOT quiet. They aren't explosively loud or anything, but the sound is definitely noticeable.
Overall Review: Typing: I have never owned a keyboard with MX blue switches before. They have a very satisfying click that you can hear and feel as you type. Typing on MX blues requires a bit more enthusiasm than say, a laptop, but I got used to it right away. I wonder if an even stiffer key switch would be better for typing. Then you could really pound the keys! Gaming: As far as gaming goes, I play all genres, and this keyboard has not disappointed me yet. There is a bit of a huff about MX Reds being the best there is for gaming. Whether or not that's true I can't say, but having owned MX Reds in the past I can say this: The selling point of the reds is that they allow you to double and triple tap faster, but so far there hasn't been a thing that I can't do with the MX Blues that I could with the Reds. I honestly have never run into situations where I had to button mash the keys that fast. The blues will double tap just fine. Out of curiosity I clocked myself, on the MX Blues I can double tap with intervals as short as 0.041 seconds, but I average at around 0.057 the keyboard can most likely go even faster, but I'm not going to mash keys all night just to find out. 0.041 seconds more than fast enough for me. Conclusion: As far as gaming is concerned, the MX Blues can definitely hold their own against MX Reds, and the clicky actuation of the Blues makes them much more satisfying to type on.
Pros: -Cherry MX blues -Beautiful, its build quality must be touched to be appreciated. -Textured gaming keys are a nice touch -Programmable LEDs are just plain awesome -Media controls are great to have, I listen to music while im gaming quite often.
Cons: -Overclocks poorly
Overall Review: The cherry MX blues have a nice crisp feedback, personally I love it. I switched from cherry MX reds, I always felt they were too "mushy" Its also a rather noisy keyboard, so keep that in mind.
Pros: Great overall keyboard Beautiful LEDs Feels Amazing Gaming Keycaps work well with my fingers
Cons: Really isn't a con more of a personal nit pick I really don't like the Cherry MX Reds I'm more of a Cherry MX Blue guy but Corsair only has the Red LED K70 with blue switches and my rig is blue I'm really picky when it comes to my computer matching with my peripherals as you can tell my computer is lights up all blue and stuff and I HATE the color red, it's been bad luck for me, but that's just me.
Overall Review: I reaaaaally hope that Corsair comes out with Cherry MX Blue with Blue LED K70 that's Anodized Black Aluminum it would match my rig and that would be amazing. I don't like how Corsair always leads the market with Reds for everything. I don't have the budget to spend for the RGB. But over great product. PLEASE CORSAIR K70 BLUE LED WITH CHERRY MX BLUE SWITCHES
Pros: Amazing Keyboard. Love how it feels and it is very sleek.
Cons: I have only owned the keyboard a few months and already the LED of one of my keys is dead. It was one of the "key" features that made me buy it. I had a G15 for about 8 years and all of the lights still work on it. Just be weary of this potential issue.
Pros: *sturdy *loud audible clicks *individually lit keys *no macro keys - always had them but never used them anyways. *dimmable back-lit keys *convenient media keys
Cons: Nothing so far. Doesn't bring me sandwiches?
Pros: Keyboard has excellent feedback, very sturdy & durable construction. It is to me the ALMOST perfect keyboard, with basic keys & critical media keys. However ever since the original K70 model, they have had one MAJOR flaw.
Cons: LED failure! It's this keyboards certain Kryptonite. This is now my 4th K70/K95 that has had LED failure within a short span of ownership. My original 2 Gunmetal K70's both started having LED's fail about the same time(6-11months). Both boards were replaced by the new revised K95 & this particular K70. The K95 with White LED's and this with Blue. The K95 had multiple white LED's fail in 6 months time, and now here we have this K70 failure in about 11 months time, first LED has gone dark. I have multiple Logitech & Saitek keyboards that are well over 3 years old and do not have any LED/lighting failure.
Overall Review: When I last had talked to Corsair on my last RMA, that had assured me, this LED issue was an issue of the past. I did not buy a $130 Keyboard with one of the key features being the backlighting, to have key features failure within a less then a years time. I love Corsair products as they do have tremendous customer support & quality *other* products, but man have they dropped the ball on this one. Enough to take my business elsewhere. I am sure if I contact them for an RMA, they will likely tell me my product carries the original products warranty, and that I am out of luck. I cannot & do NOT recommend this if a major reason for buying this keyboard is the lighting. Failure is imminent.
Pros: * Sturdy construction - this is a very well constructed piece of hardware, its extremely sturdy, I feel like I could beat an intruder to death with this thing if necessary. The cord for it (as it includes a throughput USB) is heavy duty as well, so no worries ever about fraying or getting tangled * Cherry MX Red keyset is light to the touch, performs exactly as advertised * Customization - Four different variations on backlighting (including off), it comes with regular and contoured W, A, S, D, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 keys so you may switch out as you like. You can also choose to have certain keys backlit, such as those specific keys for playing FPS games, or whatever setup you like for whatever game you like as well. * Window key lock - thank goodness for this freakin' button. Disables your Windows keys while in games so you don't get anymore of those nasty minimizations.. * On-keyboard media buttons are simple, work properly, and work very well. The two best ones are the volume roller and mute button, never minimize for this function or go into game settings again
Cons: * Key customization - the keyboard should ship with contours for all basic keys (numbers and letters). A *LOT* of people play MOBAs and MMOs, and I'm sure they would love to have these keys be contoured instead of your regular FPS gamut keysets. The WASD, 123456 keys also come with 'specialized' contours, meaning that WAD, and the 1 and 6 keys are literally formed differently from all the other keys, allowing your hand to find them immediately when you need them and not have to look down at the keyboard. This is a pro and a con, a con here because if you're not playing a straight FPS game, that gets somewhat annoying. * Light customization - it would be cool if the onboard memory could store 3-4 different custom light setups for the keys instead of all on, all off, or just one set of customized lights on. This, again, is for those of us who like to play different games where different keys do different things.
Overall Review: This is a fantastic keyboard for anyone to use, but is especially suited to primarily FPS players. If that's your dig, you will not go wrong with this. Even if its not, this is a fantastic keyboard to have, but there may be others out there with more suitable key customization configurations up your alley.
