The Define series is reaching new heights in combining stylish, contemporary design with maximum functionality and noise absorbing features. The minimalistic, yet stunning front panel design, fitted with noise absorbing material on the inside, creates an aura of exclusivity.

As the name implies, Define Mini is the smaller sibling of the acclaimed and award winning Define R2 case. Being a micro ATX version of Define R2, it offers a number of interesting functions with a very stylish appearance. It's a case focused on low noise level, without neglecting other important features such as cooling, expandability and ease of use. The Define Mini excels in including a lot of features in a small size!

The patent pending feature ModuVent™, in which you can choose whether to have fan slots in side and top panels open or not, makes the case appealing for users seeking optimal silence, as well as the performance hungry ones.

The sleek black interior is matched with pre-fitted, dense noise absorbing material on the side panels, efficiently absorbing noise and vibrations. You can fit an astonishing total of six hard drives into this case, using the user friendly HDD-trays. All painted in a nice white color and using black silicone mounts. PSU is mounted in the bottom of the case, with a convenient pull-out filter beneath it.

Had for 2 years, mic jack just failed 7/18/2017 8:11:30 AM

Pros: Good layout. Fits larger video cards. Good options for extra storage and fans. USB3 ready with front and rear plugs.

The main reason I purchased was that it didn't look like some laser light store with front windows. It's not a busy design, which is tough to find among the ones that look like Christmas trees.

Kind of amazed at how much little dust enters this thing. If you clean the filters every 6 months or so it'll be fine.

Cons: The big ding is that the front mic jack just failed. I use it every other day, and it just stopped

Overall Review: Since 2013 or so, there have been more cases designed that are sleek, simple designs.

- Edit: they were quick to get me a replacement mic part which installed pretty easily.

Quality, sturdy case. Not so good for AIO water cooling 4/10/2017 12:24:12 PM

Pros: - Very sleek design.
- Sturdy
- removable drive cages that are still secure when left in
- great sound dampening

Cons: The opening in the front of the case has special brackets for holding fans without need of mounting screws. Perhaps that's to allow for quick changing of your fans, because people do that I guess. The problem is that these brackets have mounting holes that don't match up with 120 or 140mm fans, so If I wanted to just mount fans directly onto the case, or install an AIO water loop I'd have to drill my own holes. Now, this isn't itself the end of the world, but the added flaw of not fitting a vertically installed AIO (specifically a Corsair H100iv2) was a deal breaker.

I'm giving it 3 eggs simply because the fan brackets are an unnecessary "feature" that prevent optional configurations which are not at all uncommon.

Great case - one of the better MATX designs. 3/24/2017 5:22:09 AM

Pros: This case is quiet and very functional. My other case is the newer Fractal Define Mini C, but I needed this case to hold some legacy 5-1/4" drives on my second recent build. The new "C" model does not have any drive bays (a more modern approach). I was able to migrate a build from a much noisier high airflow case in a matter of less than a half hour.

One thing I like about this case is the fact that the reset button is behind the hinged front panel. On the new case it is on the top panel where it could be pressed accidentally. I am careful, so nothing has happened accidentally with the reset.

Being an older model I managed to pick this up on a Newegg special promotion. Great case for the price.

Cons: Yeah, the front power LED is a little brighter than I would like. I might consider changing this blue LED for a red one to further differentiate my two Fractal Define Mini cases.

Overall Review: Highly recommended. Either this original Define Mini or the newer Define Mini C. Just be aware of the differences.

Great quality and quiet. 2/11/2017 7:42:29 AM

Pros: This is my second build with a Fractal case and this has the same outstanding quality as my 1st full sized case. My system runs very quiet sitting next to me on the floor. (PC on the floor, not me). It was easy to run the wiring through the grommets and everything fit perfectly.

Cons: -There was some wiring intruding into the top optical drive bay from the top connections. It looks like it can be pushed out of the way so you can push the top drive in, but I just used the lower bay. Not a big deal so not worth knocking an egg off.
-No HDD activity light.

Overall Review: I purpose built this PC to run my BlueIris video surveillance software. I needed a fast processor with multiple cores to decode video streams from multiple IP cameras. It appears so far that the built-in Intel QuickSync decoder is doing a good job decoding the H.264 streams without the aid of a graphics card.

I was worried that the Noctua cooler would be too big for the case, but the Fractal specs said it would fit and it does (barely). But the 1st PCI slot is very close so a graphics card probably won't fit there. The Noctua site says this slot is not usable with this cooler.

The Noctua cooler is quiet and the Fractal case keeps everything very quiet.

Silent 1/20/2017 1:31:55 PM

Pros: Other than power button and LED coming undone and stopped working this case is well designed and silent is truth especially when using a simple single 120mm rad AIO water cooler. All that can be heard is the pump which is barely noticeable unless under heavy stress.

I use this case as a Server running a minecraft server and my HTPC

Cons: Power button wasnt working and power LED wasnt even connected to the clear plastic around the button. Wire placement from the IO on the front panel isnt great (points down and looks to get in the way if you put a BluRay drive in) if youre going to install something in top 5.25 bay.

Overall Review: Yes id recommend this product. I contacted Fractal Design customer support after about an half an hour trying to get the power button to at least work to no avail. They were kind and with in 2 days on chat via email replacement power LED IO is being sent to me. I'd like to have a side panel with no side vent for a clean outside look and finish.

For me, pretty darn well perfect. 11/6/2016 6:34:39 AM

Pros: Well made, sturdy construction.
Quiet and a nice basic appearance, nothing flashy, which would appeal to a workplace.

Cons: Not a fan of the USB port placement cable, but if you are not using an optical drive, not a problem.

Overall Review: It is large for a midtower, but you get quite a bit a room for the internals.

Good product, bad delivery company 9/13/2016 3:43:09 PM

Pros: Good product that is exact what I needed for my build. Solid construction, sensible design.

Cons: Delivery company dropped it off in the middle of my walk way. Just 3 more steps and they could have put it on my covered front porch. Thankfully it didn't rain today.
