It connects by the locking mechanism. Power supply goes to the docking station, as does display, mouse and keyboard connections. The PC stays closed and you use the power button on the left side of the dock.

You have three ports on the back, 1 x Video Port, 1 X VGA and 1 x DVI-D.  You can connect three video devices to the docking station but your laptop may not support all three.

Yes, this docking station has dual monitor support. To use it while the laptop is closed, you have to power down the laptop, connect it to the docking station, with the lid closed, use the power button on the docking station to turn on the computer.

I am using this docking station for an HP Elitebook 8570P. But I went to an HP website and it gave me a list of devices that were compatible with this docking station; it listed HP Probook 6560b  as compatible. should work for you. this program will not let me paste the url of the website but it's an HP page. Try using the docking station model # to search on google.
