hey, I receive package today! its nice. but I have a problem. I can't find Password for Wifi connection, anywhere in box.... how can I find my PW for this hdd? please tell me.

The default wifi password is 12345678. You can find it in the user manual. You can find the user manual on toshibastorage dot com. Newegg wouldn't let me include a link.

how do I set up a bridge/internet-passthrough for my Vista laptop? the app seems to only be for mobile/tablet. could not find an app for a laptop

I don't think it matters what device you are using. You open a web browser on your laptop/phone/tablet and put the IP address of the drive, default should be 10.10.10.254. You can then adjust all your settings for wifi by tapping on the earth icon and connecting to your wifi and it will pass through the Toshiba drive to your regular wifi.

Does this work as a stand alone device for backing up an SD card?

Yes, plugging in an SD card or a micro SD card (with adapter) it will copy the contents to an SD folder on the drive. No computer is necessary for the backup function.
