Is this compatible with windows 7?

Yes, every single hard drive is compatible with every single operating system.

The only differences are how the drive is formatted (ie what "language" the operating system can read). Windows uses NTFS, FAT32 and exFAT. Mac OS X uses HFS and exFAT. There are others, but those are the main ones.

Take a book for example, as a hard drive. You, the operating system, can only read it if it's written in a language you understand. The information doesn't change, just the way the information is presented. You might not be able to read a book in Chinese, but if you learn the Chinese language you could read it no problem.

IS THIS MODEL A SOLID STATE DRIVE OR NOT ??

It's NOT an SSD. It's a spinner. 
If it was an SSD it would be MUCH more expensive.

The AC power adapter is rated as:
Input: 100-240V 50-60Hz, 35-42VA, 0.6A
Output: 12VDC, 1.5A
However, the plug is for US 110V, 2 flat prongs. If you want to use on 220V, you will need an appropriate adapter.

Yes it's flat black. Works great I use it everyday. Have like 80 movies stored on it and I keep it plugged into my PS4 so the baby can watch movies whenever.

It definitely works for PCs.  I don't use Macs so I am going from common knowledge learned from other users who do.  Your Mac needs to have a USB 3 port to get the maximum transfer speed from this drive.  Once you have it connected, you will probably need to reformat the drive using FAT32 or some other Mac-friendly format.  I would highly recommend that you go to the WD website and download the user manual for this exact product and then read the section regarding Mac use.  That will tell you everything you need to know.

Can I use this with my laptop?

Yes. As long as your laptop has a USB port, then this drive will work just fine.  However, be aware that this drive requires external power.  So you will need a source of 120VAC power to plug the power cube into.  The drive is NOT powered through the USB connection.   That's actually an advantage, though, since many laptops struggle to supply enough current from their USB ports to power USB powered drives.  So you will need to have a 120VAC outlet nearby when using this drive with your laptop.
