Question 1

Is this hard drive compatible with a Lenovo Thinkpad T510 laptop computer? My current hard drive is broken and I can't boot up my computer to check the specs on my current hard drive.

If you own a Thinkpad T510 I believe that your computer has enough space for a 9.5mm hard drive. This is a "SLIM" hard drive, meaning that it is only 7mm in height. I would suggest looking at the:

Assuming that you wanted the same specs but it is a lot cheaper and will not wobble around in your computer. However, I do recommend first removing your hard drive and double checking that it does not require a 7mm drive and can handle a 9.5mm drive (height).

Question 2

Is this compatible with my HP Envy 14?  It currently has a Samsung SpinPoint MP4 HM640JJ 640GB SATA/300 7200RPM 16MB 2.5" Hard Drive ... which is reporting failure.

My laptop is the Thinkpad T430S. I think at least it runs well in my laptop till now. I think you may need to go to your BIOS to check your settings because the OS means difference from hard disk setting. Windows 7 and 8 has different requests in the BIOS, and sometimes the manufacturer also provide some unique settings for protecting hard disk.

However, just justify from this type of hardware, it is fine for me. Good luck..

I'm Planning for upgrade storage My laptop is dell e6510 latitude
the HDD Model [WDC WD 3200BEKT-75PVM ] is this will work fine if i replace it with the old one ......and will be compatible ?

The key item to look for in SATA laptop drives is the height.  Because this drive is 7mm, and the original drive is 9.5mm, it will fit in the available space, with 2.5mm to spare.  The interfaces are compatible, so it will indeed work.

However, despite being a 6.0Gb/s interface, this drive is a 5400 RPM drive, which is not as fast as your original 7200 RPM drive, which means disk accesses will, in general, be slightly slower, as it will (on average) take longer for the correct portion of the disk to rotate into position under the head.

Question 5

Might be a silly question; pondering two of these in a desktop that has two open 2.5 bays.  Already have two 3.5 configured RAID0.  Thoughts?

I do not believe these drives would be well suited to a RAID array, since they are likely tuned to be energy-efficient (i.e., stop spinning as often as possible), which does not generally lend itself to good RAID performance or lifespan. If you do elect to do it, these drives would have to be on another array than the two 3.5" drives (I'm not sure if that is your intent or not).

These drives seem to be pretty good, though. I have used mine as an external backup drive in an enclosure (with hourly, daily, and monthly backup pools), and it's been running without issue for about 2 years now.

is this drive compatible with lenovo x220?

It looks like a fit but try to identify what you are replacing and what you want to accomplish.  Some x220s have SSDs and some have HDDs.  I can tell you that I replaced a smaller (GB), slower HDD with this one and I have been very happy with it.  The things you need on your current system are SATA connection and 2.5" form factor, and this will fit.  Go into "Device Manager" and see what make and model HDD or SDD you have in there already and then look up the specs for that.

If it fits, it will work.  If your laptop was designed to use 6Gb/s drives, it will work better.

This drive does not have the Apple symbol on it.  Will it be compatible and work in a MacBook Pro?

Yes, it will work with regular Macbook Pros, both 13" and 15".  However, it will not work in any Retina or Macbook Air machines.

It is the laptop hard drive. But you 'd better measure your current hard drive size and compare with this one. Otherwise, it may not be slided inside.
