Pros: Great price and plenty of power for a budget gaming PC
Overall Review:
Paired with an RX-580, SSD, and some decent ram this processor is the brains of the budget gaming system I recently put together. No issues running any games, just don't expect it to match up with the most current gen or to play games on 4K.
Best value for the price I could find, very happy with the purchase.
Overall Review: A-1
Overall Review: good quality
Pros:
affordable for budget build
powerful enough for big games
Cons: for the price, there aren't really any.
Overall Review: so I bought this for my budget build desktop. I have a 1060x GPU and 8gb of ram. I can run VR games fairly well with this CPU. I have 3 sensors so it does occasionally have issues running flawlessly (as it is processing 3 sensors, 2 controllers and a headset that connects with USB 3.0 and HDMI. but! for running all that on only a dual processor, this is the best bang for your buck.
Pros: Does What I pay for...Games at high settings 1080p with no problem.
Cons: No Hyper treading.
Overall Review:
So I've been wanting a gaming pc since like 2005 but at the time
It seem out my budget. So the easy route was just get a console.
But now that the new consoles have to many version I've felt that
Its time to build my gaming pc 2017 was probably not the year to do it
But I took my time buying parts. Waiting for sale And I Did pretty good
With a nice mid range pc .
The i5 7500 at time was on sale for 160 which seem ok.
But to me I thought I was getting a great deal.
Growing up with Intel the cpu to me was knowable
Which lead me to buy that brand.
But now that I'm more into the pc master race AMD
IS THE TO GO TO WHEN IT COMES TO DOLLAR TO DOLLAR
SAVING AND MORE CORES!!!
THE MOBO I PURCHASE CAN BE UPGRADED BUT TO ONLY A I7 7TH GEN
THATS 4C/8T. FOR LIKE 300 BUCKS!!! THATS PRICEY.
So finale thoughts yes I'm happy with my 4c/4t but for how long.
And when time comes I will switch to Amd!!!
Ryzen 7 8 cores for like 160!!!!
Pros:
If you have an older i3 or i5 with a compatible mother preferably z170 or z270 mobo get this chip as a cheap and quick upgrade path then do some vrm power phase tuning. Setup properly its not much slower at all compared to a i7 7700k with the living daylights oc'd out of it. Setup of the vrm settings in your bios to aggressive settings and set the power mode to high performance in windows 10 or the performance governor in Linux.
This is not your other brand quad core with HT alternative technologies, an i7's HT is much more efficient than the competitors and makes for one wonder of a quad core.
If I have to use this for the next 3 years or more I am sure it will do just fine especially with the gaming and workloads that I do.
Right now I say if your setup will allow for this chip, this is a quick and fast upgrade if your are like I said using an i5 or i3 then you can wait for the truly heavy hitting ice lake stuff when the price comes down by then a new mobo +cpu and ram upgrade will very much be worth it. Get the most mileage out of what you have with minimal upgrades is my philosophy.
Cons: 0
Overall Review:
I like the fact that it is a 65watt cpu, with a cryorig m9i 'small tower air cooler' it idles at 30c and rarely breaks 68c on heavy gaming loads. I have my vcore set to 1.165. One wonder of a hyperthreaded quad for sure. Pair it with a mid tier gpu and you will bet set for years @1080p until ice lake 10nm lower tdp cpu's hit market.
I am using this with an Asus z270 board,16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR 2400 and a GTX 1070. 960 EVO M.2 drive. This system absolutely CRUSHES!
Pros: It runs stable and works as described
Cons: Its a 7th gen processor and the 8th gens are out - the price is way too high

Pros: -fast
-cheap
Cons: -not an i7 (haha)
Overall Review: awesome on a budget. I would have went with something even better but I was just fitting this into an existing system upgrade.
