As Awesome as the Box it Comes in5/14/2019 7:49:12 AM
Pros: -Fast
-Really Fast
Cons: -Price
Overall Review: I keep this cooled with a Noctua NH-D15S Air Cooler. I'm idling at around 35 Degrees. Under gaming loads (with an RTX 2070) it's usually between 55 and 65 degrees. Most people say you should liquid cool this only, I don't agree.
Overall Review: I had initially bought this CPU from another major online distributor, but became the next victim to receive a fake calculator processor, disguised in a box that was labeled to be an i7-9700K. So I returned that piece of garbage and came over to Newegg, and purchased a real one. Came exactly as described. I'm very happy now!
Thank you Newegg for keeping better track of your inventory to make sure customers don't receive fake products!
Cons: Always run diagnostics to make sure your new CPU is good
Overall Review: When I built my new PC, I was having a ton of blue screens. I first tested RAM which passed the memtest86 tests and also tested with another motherboard with same results. The only other thing, which may be rare, is I got a bad CPU. I then downloaded the Intel CPU diagnostics tool and it showed constant errors while calculating prime numbers and the stress tests.
I then sent the CPU back to Newegg for a replacement and received the new one 10 days later. The new chip is flawless and runs all tests good and have had no more blue screens.
The only downside besides the hassle of dealing with troubleshooting is having to wait 10 days to get my hands on a new chip from Newegg. I wish they would handle exchanges like they do in other online stores where they send you the replacement right away before you even ship the broken product back to them.
Great CPU but always use the Intel diagnostics after a new build to make sure you have a good chip.
Pros: It’s the best. Or at least was a month ago.
I’m good for the next 5-6 years, probably?
Cons: The packaging seems a bit excessive and silly but I suppose this is normal for excessively powerful/flashy consumer goods. Not sure as I’m normally a frugal individual.
Overall Review: With this latest build of mine, I finally had the means to go crazy. Even at stock speeds this thing is amazing.
Pros: - One of the fastest processors on the market
- No problems. I see people saying that this is not supported by motherboards and often leads to problems but that is a builders problem you have to make sure you get a motherboard that supports this or update bios before.
- Runs very cool. Also people are saying it runs hot. I paired mine with a Cooler Master hyper 212 and Playing AAA games I have yet to see it more than 50 C. Again make sure when you make a build you account for air flow with built in case fans and after market fans to make optimal air flow.
.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Overall very satisfied. I paired this processor with a gtx 1660 ti and have been able to run any game at 60+ fps on ultra.
Overall Review: It has been 6 years since I upgraded my PC and my previous CPU was an i5-2500k. It served me well for all those years and I never felt the need to upgrade until this last year when I struggled to play newer games at generic medium settings. I don’t keep up with computer hardware when I’m not looking to upgrade so I didn’t have a clue as to what I should buy. The i5 was near the best bang for the buck back when I bought it and I was looking for a similar deal. A friend told me to consider AMD but my last Intel CPU served me well and ran like a tank so why change? After seeing this “Coffee Lake” chip on sale and reading the glowing reviews I knew this was the one.
After executing a poor HSF installation and fearing I damaged the CPU I can safely say this CPU runs great at stock and my temps are below average. I’ll likely overclock it in the near future but for me there’s no rush. The stock performance is very impressive and I’m confident that I made the right choice by picking this one. Thank you to the people who bought this before me and wrote informative reviews so I knew what I would (mostly) be getting. It’s looking like I’ll be building a rig for a friend using this same chip in the near future.
