Pros: Super Fast
Great Overclocking Potential
Runs Cool and Quiet
Overall Review: I coupled this with a quality MSI motherboard and have not been disappointed. I suppose I got lucky and am able to overclock this to 5.2 GHz at 1.352 volts and it is completely rock solid and stable. The overclock has resulted in serious gains of 10 to 20% performance over stock in many titles and makes all of my games shine in 4K when paired with my new RTX 2080 Super. I couldn't be more pleased with the performance and would recommend this CPU for any gamer who wants great frame rates without having to pay for a ridiculously expensive i7 or i9. I don't see any reason to upgrade this thing anytime soon and I will most likely be purchasing more to upgrade my kids computers too.
The price was amazing and this thing just rocks!
Pros: -This chip is fast! I was able to get it to 5ghz pretty easily. Your mileage may vary but seems 4.8-5.0 is usually achievable with these chips.
-If you do lots of gaming, it's a great choice for the money.
-Will be a big upgrade for anyone coming from 7000 series or earlier processors. It blew my i7 6700 out of the water on stock clocks.
-Works well with factory overclocked ram as long as you have a decent motherboard. My system is running 32gb @ 3200mhz.
Cons: -Not a big step up from the 8000 series. It's basically the same as the 8600k but with thermal solder instead of paste.
-Intel's inability to move smaller than 14nm is starting to have a big impact on their product development.
-Price to performance ratio isn't as good as Ryzen. However, the performance is definitely better for gaming.
-If you do lots of productivity tasks like rendering and compiling, don't buy this get a Ryzen. You'll get way more threads for the money than you do with Intel.
Overall Review: This is a good chip. However, there are some better options out there depending on your needs. Intel still holds the crown for gaming and the i5 is still a solid choice for most.
Pros: Two more cores than my old CPU.
Is a bit faster with better overclocking capabilities than my old CPU.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: Several weeks ago, my 8 year old MB gave up the ghost. A new MB means a new CPU/cooler, and new memory. I wasn't looking for upgrade. per se, just replacements that would give me equivalent performance (or a bit better) than what I had as I was pretty happy with what I had. To me, getting newer, state of the art equipment is an automatic upgrade in itself. I chose this CPU mainly for it performance characteristics and it's overclocking capability. The old CPU that I am replacing is an Intel Core i7-3770K. The biggest difference between this CPU and my old CPU is the graphics capability and the number of cores/threads. My old CPU had built-in graphics, which I do not need now as the MB that I chose has built-in graphics, but I also have a plug-in graphics card as well. However, the biggest thing is 6 cores and 6 threads on this CPU plus better overclocking capability than my old CPU at 4 cores and 8 threads. I've had the new hardware up and running for a couple of weeks now with no issues. I'm very happy with my new configuration.
Pros: - Order processing
- Product did work
Cons: - Shipping method
Overall Review: Everything about the transaction was fine, however the $400 processor was shipped in a USPS Priority envelope that was too small to even hold the product. They put one small piece of cardboard around the retail box to protect it.
At least the processor worked but was very disappointed in how they packaged this.
Pros: Upgraded from an i5 4440 and the difference is night and day. Runs incredibly fast and stays cool. Shipping was fast too.
Overall Review: Amazing processor...would recommend.
Pros: VERY Overclockable. Have mine running at 5ghz stable at 1.31v. Temps while running 100% load on all cores never got over 62c with my bequiet cpu cooler. ( no liability if u damage anything because u overclocked it disclaimer)
Overall Review: This thing throws everything I throw at it with no problem. Responsive and efficient. Very affordable for the performance. Even without overclocking the turbo runs amazing.
Pros: + Can be overclocked to 4.9 GHz without any drawbacks
+ Solid performance accross games
Cons: - 4.9 GHz+ pretty much needs liquid cooling to stay at safe temperatures
- Nowadays, everything short of an i9 will be a bottleneck if you use it along with a TI or Titan graphics card
- Intel Performance Maximiser will take some space from your OS drive
Overall Review: While Ryzen is probably pretty great, you just can't go wrong with Intel. Their processors always come with a basic OC frequency (called Turbo), but while it says 4.9 here, in truth, it defaults to 4.6 until you run a few tests using Intel Performance Maximiser to make sure that your machine is able to sustain higher frequencies and voltages. A lot of people go over 5 GHz, but I didn't because 4.9 already barely passes 3DMark's DirectX12 Stress Test.
Pros: Product came quickly and I installed on a Gigabyte Z390 UD motherboard. Works as advertised
Overall Review: I used a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO cooler and it has been working perfectly. No problems what-so-ever.
