Would this power supply work without using Corsair Link?

You do not need to buy the corsair link kit for this to work.  it has it built in, all you have to do is plug in the usb cable to the power supply and plug the other end to the motherboard usb headers and then download the corsair link software.  If you don't want to use corsair link that's fine too just don't plug in the usb cable.

Question 2

Can this be mounted on the top and/or bottom of the Full tower? Does it have a this side up specification? Would mounting it upside down hurt it or lower it's life span in any way? I would be mounting it in the top back of my tower - having it suck hot air out from inside the case to the back. No vents on top of my tower all solid top.

The direction it is mounted will not effect its lifespan in any way. Though it will increase air flow a bit, I wouldn't recommend relying on your power supply as your only source of exhaust for your case. If your case is running hot, and you don't have any extra spots to add case fans, I would highly recommend getting a high airflow case. Or a liquid CPU cooler which would do a great job of lowering your case temp by removing the CPU heat sync from the middle of your case.

Does this work with ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z AM3+ with AMD FX-FX-9590 Series? By that i mean does it have the CPU power connectors for the 8-pin and 4-pin CPU power connectors to populate them?

Wilfredo Yes it works!and No it doesn't have the extra 4pin but it is not necessary on your mobo unless you plan to do really extreme overclocking like with LN, so yes this will work perfect for you!

You can also check your mobo manual it says it somewhere in there of how is optional, also if you really wanted to use it, well you cal always get a molex to 4 pin adapter.

The case that I have will only allow me to install this PSU fan side down, what is on the other side? a big ugly specs sticker?

I installed my PSU fan side down. I'm pretty sure most installations are that way. The fan sucks air from the bottom side of the case and then exhausts out the back side of the PSU.  I have no sticker on top of my PSU, possibly i removed it or it was never there, I can't recall.

what is the length of the 24 pin ATX cable? It's not mentioned in the specs.

I have already built my PC so without removing this cable, that's a hard question to answer. I would say it plenty long enough unless you have an unusual build that calls for a longer cable. Just search with Google using the name of the Power Supply and the name of the cable. Several suppliers will appear.  Good luck.

Absolutely!  Every SATA power plug is similar apart from micro sata like laptop cd/dvd.  I've had no problems with this power supply at all.  Powerful, quiet and efficient!

How long is the +12v 8-pin CPU connector? (Will it reach the 8-pin CPU connector on the Motherboard if ran through the back of the case, or will it require an extension)
