will this work in a dell inspiron n5050? i think i have all the numbers right but your memory finder app only shows up to 8gb. am i not supposed to use 16gb on this computer?

I installed this 16GB RAM in a Dell XPS17 laptop, (L702X), Intel i7-2 720QM, Win7 64bit that only had two slots and shipped from Dell with 8gb of RAM and indicated by Dell 8GB max capable. I undertook the upgrade as the result of hard drive failure and also installed Intel ssd drive. Research of the components convinced me it should work. As a result the sytem is the best I have ever used. I cannot tell you about the specifics of your n5050, Good Luck.
