As far as I know, there is no 9860 is NOT a valid model number.  If you meant XPS 8960, then the answer is yes, it will work.  I installed this in my XPS 8960 almost 1 year ago and it's been working great. Hope this helps.

They should be but the bigger question you should be asking yourself is: Are these compatible with your Motherboard.  To find out go to the crucial website and look up your motherboard. Crucial will provide you with a list of RAM modules that are compatible with your Motherboard.
