Does it come with a 2.5 inch to 3.5 inch adapter bracket for a desktop computer?

No it doesn't.  I  bought the Sabrent converter on Newegg - Sabrent BK-HDDF 2.5 Inch to 3.5 Inch Internal Hard Disk Drive Mounting Bracket Kit.   It was about $8.00 and worked great.

I received the drive only.  It came in a package with a direction booklet.  Package was wrapped in bubble wrap in a bigger box for shipping..

How do you install it in the laptop ? Does it replace the SSD of a laptop ?

Yes, this would replace the current drive in your computer. You will also need a cable or external enclosure to allow you to connect the SSD to a USB port and copy your current drive over. If your laptop has an optical drive that you don't use then you can purchase an adapter that would allow you to keep your current drive where the optical drive was for additional storage, as well as allowing you to copy it's contents to the SSD.

It's a 2.5" drive. It can fit into a space designed for a 3.5" drive using an adapter.

I'm not sure but I used open source software to clone by existing drive to the new drive.  I used CloneZilla, which works great.

I think if you look at the spec's there is a slight speed difference. I also think one has a plastic case where one has more metal in it. I may be wrong about the second aspect but I am almost positive about the speed.
