Silicon Power Slim S55 2.5
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: It just works. I haven't benchmarked these drives, but really that's not the point. They are vastly faster, more rugged, and have less power draw than a laptop HDD, and therefore make a great upgrade for an older laptop. They are especially good for people who might be prone to treat their mobile devices roughly.

Cons: These have been absolutely trouble-free, which is more than I can say for some other big name SSDs.

1 out of 5 eggs Canon Print Head Defect 07/18/2016

This review is from: Canon PIXMA MX922 Wireless Inkjet Office All-In-One Printer

Pros: It printed well while it worked.

Cons: This printer, not quite a year after purchase, out of the blue, displays the dreaded and infamous print head is not correct error. Google "Canon Print Head Class Action" for more details. Unfortunately, this printer is not included in the class action, but it should be, because it displays the exact same behavior as the machines described in the suit.

Other Thoughts: Avoid this printer unless you like working on broken junk.

In-Win K2 BASIC Thin Mini-ITX Black case with 120W power adapter, heat sink - Retail

Pros: Compact and very solidly built, the best Thin Mini ITX case I have used so far. Everything fit perfectly and the construction is heavy gauge, partially because of the optional monitor stand which would be pretty good in some situations.

Cons: Angled SATA cable exits in wrong direction. I haven't checked if that is because of the motherboard I used not following specifications, but it would be nice if the case came with two proprietary cables, one angled one way and one angled another. As it was, I had to put a piece of electrical tape in the inside of the chassis to keep the metal edge from digging at the wrong-facing connector during assembly. This is a half-egg deduction only because the rest of the case is so brilliant.

Other Thoughts: I am going to buy another one of these for use with a higher-end Q87mobo, and we'll see if the SATA connector angles the wrong way on that one. I'll update this if I can.
