fast, stable, sweet!
Pros: this processor is all I have hoped for! I have been running very stable on the MSI k9A2 platinum motherboard with corsair dominator 1066 ram just fine! (just had to update the bios and set ram to 2.1 volts) the CPU comes with a pretty decent heat sink, I wish the fan was a higher sped one, but not bad for a freebie. i have the cpu set at 2.6ghz because I felt like it, and it usually runs between 41-43 C with the stock cooler, so not bad I would say. over clocking is simple, just bump up the multiplier and done.
Cons: requires a good motherboard that can supply 125W... so don't waste your time on a really cheap motherboard... not worth it.
Overall Review: AMD 9850 @ 2.6ghz (for now), MSI K9A2 Platinum (bios 1.4), Corsair Dominator 2x1GB 1066 ram @2.1v, 4 hard drives, 2 dvd drives, GeForce 8800GT OC, and Enermax 460W power supply, and it all runs stable!
so-so, but bad generation of nvidia
Pros: decent value for the money back in the day. played all the games it needed to, but not that great looking graphics with games like Company of Heroes, etc. but with settings turned down it was fine.
Cons: card has intermittent issues since about 2.5-3 years after purchase. I personally had an 8800GT go bad on me and there are tons of similar chip video cards in desktop and laptops of this generation that just overheated and broke solder connections, so basically poor design due to an overload of power and not small enough transistors in its time.
Overall Review: I would expect much longer lifespan out of an $80 graphics card, no matter what the current technology spectrum looks like.
Easy to use but PoE is questionable
Pros: pretty easy to get set up, when up and running it is easy to plug this into any network with DHCP and get online with wireless devices. Really cheap too, so that is kinda nice.
Cons: I could not get this to power up on a PoE port on a Cisco switch. I then tried using an inline 48v power inserter at which point I heard some sizzling and immediately unplugged the AP. surprisingly it still works, so I'm not sure what fried inside, but don't use a 48v power inserter with this.
Overall Review: TP-Link should be more clear on what defines "PoE" as I just wanted a basic AP to get its own power so I can go to a site and plug this in without needing a wall wart power supply. Their version of inserting power is weird and not standard. I may try out the Ubiquiti airGateway-LR instead, as it looks like it will do the same thing but actually run off of a PoE port.
not bad but...
Pros: cheap speakers with a volume knob and headphone jack. They make sound, which is all I needed.
Cons: I am located really close to an AM radio station, and these speakers pick up the radio station and plays it through the speakers. I have never seen this with any other cheap speakers, so they could use better RF filtering internally.
Great little Case!
Pros: Fits a larger sized Micro-ATX board pretty well, Front USB 3.0 is fantastic, Front Mesh pops off easily for regular cleaning, very small form factor overall
Cons: the Hard drive cage blocks access to one of my RAM slots after a drive is installed, tall memory sticks would hit the hard drive in that location
Overall Review: if the hard drives could be oriented differently, either perpendicular inside the case or turned on their sides, it would make fitment a lot easier and future-proofed. Be aware of how many wires your PSU has, the setup I built had tons of extra wires I had to cram below the DVD drive bay. There is not a lot of open space once you put everything together. (don't block the 120mm fan either!)
Great for the money
Pros: Fits a 5.25" external bay, cheap, does the job!
Cons: none
Overall Review: this would look odd in a case that is not Black.
