I have a 1 port cabled modem. I just want to run a 20 ft Ethernet cable to my Blu-ray player back to modem with hopefully with this device to give me just one more port.(not operating many devices)Reason, to access streaming services(Netflix for example)?

Your cable modem should plug into the WAN or Internet port of a router. THen your other devices (blu-ray player, pc, etc) plug into the router's LAN ports. This isn't the right equipment for you
