- It has 20 PCIe 5.0 lanes that are shared between three mechanical x16 expansion slots. - The first two expansion slots support PCIe bifurcation. - All of the PCIe lanes in the expansion slots are connected to the CPU, just like Threadripper. - It has a metal stiffener plate on the bottom that covers most of the motherboard to prevent sagging. - It looks professional, like a workstation motherboard. - Lots of settings in the BIOS to help you configure a stable system.
Fits perfectly, has the features and functions I needed for my build. I used some RGB RAM, and the Noctual low profile cooler (NH-L9x65). No issues with fit, compatibility at all. The board came with a recent version of the BIOS, so I did not have to perform an update to plug in the 5800X3D installed.
Asus quality all connections are easy to get to except the power for the case.
It does its job and looks good doing it. I use SignalRgb to control LEDS
3 tool-less NVMe slots, 4 SATA, upgraded audio (ALC1220), and overall looks great!
-Nice heatsink -Built in I/O shield
- Design, I like the all black design and heat spreaders keeping it minimal. - b850, comes with newer features like pcie 5.0, gen 5 storage, and 9000 series support - wifi, always a plus and personally I always prefer the attachable antenna instead of the little tower with a wire some motherboards use - 8 usb on back, more that enough for my peripherals - pcie 16x location, for my specific matx case, I wanted the pcie lane for the gpu to be at its highest so there would not be a extra slot between the cpu cooler and gpu - dual motherboard display output, helped me a lot when I was out a gpu and needed to use my computer with integrated graphics. -Bios, very user friendly, easy to tune ram and cpu
It was very easy to setup, the BIOS comes with an easy mode to toggle, has a nice color and sleek design to it.
This is a new design of the B650 board similar look at MSI Z790A MAX WIFi, a great MB., I used it to pair with the newAMD9600x perfect! Has all the function/ efficiency i need . Good Price too, Fall into a nice budget build.,
Good amount of m.2 slots for a gaming motherboard, everything was easy to install on it and it was quite resistant to how much pressure I applied to it while installing the GPU. Nice look as well
- Awesome set of usb ports (and they location for me) - Build in wifi 6e (not intel, but mediatek - still works) - x4 pcie4 (not x3 and x1 pcie3) without hidden limitations - overall MB temperatures looks fine on idle / gaming / stress (comparing with my friend's new intel MB overheating all around) - m.2 ez mount screws - best and simple thing I got for last years (no more suffering)
Honestly, I purchased this product due to its small form factor and numerous features. Its a bit overkill for what I need but its great. I was worried the HIVE may not have been a good idea but its a niche novelty. The light features during boot allows for quicker troubleshooting(assuming you can remember what each color means without looking it up each time LOL) and ports allow quick input for external usb-based storage and peripherals.
The list of the pros is way too long!!!!
Easy to setup Good RAM compatibility Extensive options in UEFI Bios
- Plenty of M.2 slots - Reinforced GPU and RAM slots - EZ Latch installation
Reasonable price, has THREE M.2 slots (1 gen5 and 2 gen4) and it doesnt waste board costs on a PCIe 5.0 GPU Slot (there are no GPUs with PCIe 5 connectivity, and there wont be for several yearsits needless added cost). This has all the features you want from the AM5 platform and none of the absurd extra ones. It has an Intel Ethernet Chip which is awesome - usually AMD boards get Realtek ones. The Gen5 M.2 slot has an active heatsink with a little tiny fan (those are supposed to get super hot). If youre using gen4 or below you can probably get away with turning it off, which can be done in the BIOS.
- Setup and installation was super easy, no issues getting the EXPO profile or PBO working with stock settings - Wifi is great! -M.2 heatsink seems more than sufficient for PCIe4 drives even in small enclosures
Best value motherboard for a B850
This is pretty much as good as it gets. Yes, there are teething issues with WRX90 because it's such a new platform, but once you get past those, the board has been rock solid.
