This is about my first one. Functions as the instructions said it would. Sometimes instructions can be a little confusing, but once you've used it, it's quick and very easy, plus unlike the older maintainer I've been using, I can tell when the battery has been charged to 100% unlike the old maintainer which didn't tell much. Plus I left the charger/maintainer on to see what would happen after the battery was at 100%. It maintained for a while, then turned off as the instructions said it would. It then "maintains" the battery, and if necessary comes back on to add to the charge. This off and on is a way to prevent the chemicals inside from constant on time preventing extra wear to the battery. There's more but you have to use one to see it's advantages. My old battery tender can't keep up with this smart charger.
